    1f for 12ga

This would be a great opportunity for you to experiment and educate all of us. Pattern the 1f, 2F and 3f over a chronograph and compare the patterns. Figure out how much you need to increase the 1f to match the 2f and 3f velocities and pattern the 1f again at those velocities and compare again...

    Changing Powder charges on woodswalk.

I think the answer is going to vary depending on the types of targets people encounter on a woods walk. For me, no i don’t change loads. But the vast majority of targets I encounter on woods walks in my area are close, cut a card, hanging beads, stuff like that. The rare shot at a longer...

    RWS #11 In stock

I don’t like the pay to play prices either but you’re right, the shooter now has a choice to participate or not. How many threads are there on “I can’t find caps”, “There aren’t any caps for sale”. Well here they are, the market isn’t saying you can’t participate because there is no product...

    777 shotgun loads

That’s the same load I use with 2F for targets, don’t see why it wouldn’t work with 777? Bismuth is about 15% lighter than lead and when you get up to waterfowl sized shot there is more air voids so you will have to adjust your measure until you get the weight you want. I wouldn’t be afraid to...

    Sportsman's warehouse

You’re right, it’s not the employees fault. Unfortunately there are less hunters, shooters, and gun people. With the high price of those hobbies and loss of hunting access the people that can afford to gain that knowledge already have a better job/career. In the sad state of the current...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Bought these. $14.00 each….. but I’m thankful to have them and be able to keep shooting. Need to switch to nipples that will fit 11’s.

    Some newby questions

Liquid Alox you thin with mineral spirits and “tumble lube”. Put 100 or so bullets in a ziplock bag and 3 or 4 drops of the thinned Alox and shake around. You want a varnished look, barely visible. Dump bullets out on wax paper to dry. Do a second coat the next day. If it won’t dry you put to...

CCI Caps - CCI reply regarding availability

I think it is believable simply because it’s hard to comprehend the size and scale of the United States economy. Just think about it, there are over 4,600 Walmarts, not all of them sell caps but a lot do. Then the larger sporting goods retailers like Dunhams, Sheels, Academy’s, Cabalas/Bass...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Took the wife to the range so she could shoot her new Patriot. I shot it a couple of times. It was fun. She was going to try the new shotgun but with 30 MPH wind we decided to wait for a better day. Clays would have really been dancing around.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Be careful what you wish for! It’s two guns for her to use and for me, two more I have to have to clean…..

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

My wife came home with these yesterday. Unfired 12 gauge New Englander with changeable choke tubes. She complains her current trap gun, a CVA Trapper is to light. IC in it should work good for 10 yard trap, Need to order a full for handicaps. Patriot is in excellent shape too. .

    Black powder or Pyrodex

Just found that out today too. New shotgun came with 1.5 lbs of Pyrodex so I said might as well use it up. Loaded on the 10th shot like it was the first.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Wife got a new shotgun from a friend, Navy Arms Pietta 12 gauge bauble barrel. We took it to the range today and it hits pretty close to the point of aim with both barrels. Will make a fine skeet gun. Cylinder both barrels.

    Determining safe powder loads?

Any gun store that sells reloading supplies will probably have it.

    Finally finished my Woodsrunner

That is outstanding! Your metal finish is perfect against the wood, I can’t stop looking at it.

Any SxS trap shooters out there?

Everything ZUG said. There is a saying in shotgunning, patterns are measured in inches, misses are measured in feet. You need to work on you, trap is a mental sport and relies heavily on the fundamentals of shot gunning. A good resource for a basic introduction is the Remington trap video...

    Bullet Casting Question

That always works for me. Ask at your local gun shop. Half the workers probably cast and if they don’t they know who does.

    10Ga Load Development

That’s awesome that loads 1 and 2 verify your original results.

    10Ga Load Development

Nice write up! A few things stand out to me in your notes. Since it is a double barrel was the same barrel used for all of the shots taken? I ask because pattern 1 and 2 appear to me to fall outside of and much better than the results you would expect to see with a cylinder bore. Loads 3-5...
