I have used both for stocks and furniture you won't notice much difference.

Why no black powder hunting personalities

I agree with you. They act like jackasses and to me it is embarrassing.

    Confederate Revolvers

If they are offended by our history they can leave and go to a better country if there is one. Otherwise get over it.

New to BP with a 10 gauge and hopes of a turkey

Don't expect both barrels to like the same load none of mine ever did. They are a real challenge to make work but when Old tom is flopping around on the ground the satisfaction can't be matched with a rem 870.

    Cutting large chunks of lead

I use a bandsaw with 3/4 teeth to the inch. I also oil the cut line it cuts much easier. Then clean up. Still much faster than a hammer and hatchet.

    Maybe a Cheaper way out?

Changed 2 cvas over the years. One a mt rifle from half stock to full stock and a siler flintlock. The other was a 2 piece stock so it was changed to a half stock with a siler flinter. Also turned the barrel from full octagon to half round half octagon. Made a real sweet utility rifle. One of...

Hunting accident in CT with a musket?

Didn't need a hunter safety course in Pa when I started hunting it came a couple years later. I never thought it was worth the time and effort. My father in law and I finally took the class when I was 37 so we could hunt out west. It was very worthwhile one can always learn something even after...

    Long Term Rust Prevention

Boeshield has worked well for me in long term storage of shop machines.

    Failure :’(

When I make a rod it is usually a half inch longer than the barrel for a little better finger grip. It doesn't seem to bother the gun, the things I shoot at and God knows it doesn't bother me. I have originals with rods from 2inches longer than the barrel to an inch shorter than barrel length...

    barrel reboring

Bobby Hoyt just rebored a 3220 to 3240 for $100.00. About fell over I expected twice that much. This is the second barrel he has done for me an LG and Y was relined and breech plug removed as well as the nipple for 200.00. Excellent work but be patient he is very busy. He also currently has...

Some Eye Candy : Cimarron 1860 "McCulloch Colt" Anyone Else?

A fine looking Colt and very impressive knife.

    Slow ignition

I have put three Kibler kits together and trigger pull was less than 3 pounds on all of them. If your trigger pulls hard something must be out of alignment. Ignition is very fast, maybe faster than any flinter I have.

    Getting into Casting

Just as scote4570 said marvelux will cause your pot to build a lot of dirt on the pot side walls not necessarily rusty scale. It also absorbs moisture so you need to be careful when first stirring the pot with a spoon or what ever you use. I probably will not use it I my Lee pots any more but...
