Is that fingerprint near the crown yours or is it a flaw in the bluing of the barrel?

Ramrod will not go back into place and is sticking out beyond front of barrel. Help!

When you used the gun first time and then cleaned it, how did the ramrod come out of its location. Did it come smoothly or did you have to yank on it? On my first ramrod/spring gun I found I had to bend the spring a little to make the ramrod an easy yet secure fit. I believe that the forwardmost...

Thimble fell off traditions Trapper pistol. How can I fix it?

When I put my Trapper kit together I had trouble with the screw not being long enough to secure the thimble properly and it fell off each time I looked at it.. The screw holding it was not long enough and, not having another longer screw at hand, I gently drilled the screw's countersink in the...

New (preassembled) Investarms Bridger Hawken .50 cal, percussion: Trigger, hammer question

SDSmlf: Thanks for the above diagram and explanation. Having removed it I adjusted as you say. I have got it working but it is still a heavy, unpleasant trigger. It is also quite rough and would need polishing to make it anywhere near acceptable. My trigger has the two adjustment screws under...

New (preassembled) Investarms Bridger Hawken .50 cal, percussion: Trigger, hammer question

Thanks, "deermanok": The hammer will stay at full cock. The concern is that when pulling it from half to full, then if my finger slipped the hammer would (should) simply return to the half cocked position and NOT return all the way to hit the cap and discharge. "Grenadier1758": I also have a...

New (preassembled) Investarms Bridger Hawken .50 cal, percussion: Trigger, hammer question

Just received the above and find the the trigger is not working properly in that when pulling from half cock to full cock, I hear several clicks and, in thinking that the gun is fully cocked, I release it and it springs all the way forward (which would discharge the rifle if it was loaded - in...

    Buying Black Powder

Thanks, Ed C. I was suspicious of this "rare availability". I've actually ordered a #11 Percussion Cap Maker from 22reloader.com. All the videos seem to indicate its a good option - and fun at the same time!

    Buying Black Powder

Powder? I can't find any #11 percussion caps (in packs of 100) at a decent price, local (AZ) or online . I can find 1000 packs but that would be a complete waste of money considering how much I get to use the rifle

    new member in AZ.

Glad to be joining this 'branch' of firearm owners. Reached 75 years before actually obtaining and shooting a muzzle loader. Go figure. Unfortunately, nowhere near enough for frequent outdoor shooting especially given the latest price of gas! Looking forward to gaining knowledge and having fun.
