Panther Primitive Tents is going out of business Need recommendation

I have not ordered from them in over 15 years but Tentsmiths was first-rate. I had them build a custom medieval pavilion to my plans.

Muzzleloading shops and ranges in Huntsville, AL?

I live in Huntsville (Hi Mr. Collie! :) ) A lot of folks are talking bad about Swan Creek, but you may not know that for about the last 2 years now this is a managed range. It is staffed by state park rangers and RSOs who tend to be pretty vigilant. New cement benches with adjustable seats...

    Cutting large chunks of lead

I routinely buy 60+ pound pigs from the foundry. I now have melting pot that will hold the entire pig. But I have chopped them up before also. I do not recommend any kind of saw. This will generate a lot of lead bits that you have to clean up. The easiest way is to use a hammer and a...

    How many years Muzzleloading experience?

Well, I probably bought my first black powder revolver over 20 years ago (geez how is that possible?) But I've been a regular competition black powder shooter for over 10. Team captain for like 3.

    Choosing a melting furnace.

Mine does not have a big steel knob like that on top. You said remove it. did you add it? I would think the big heavy weight would help keep the pintle seated.

    Percussion Cap "Shortage"

I have also contacted the cap makers, including RWS in Germany. Like you - no response. I agree it's not hoarders, it's a shortage. A captalistic system should fix this - we have had 3-4 years now of people waving cash in the air and no caps to be found. I don't understand it.

Why are Uberti pistol boxes so flimsy?

I keep all the original packing for my guns, also. It does seem to command a premium, or at least people advertise it, when selling. I can't say I'd be willing to pay more for a fancy box though. Although, it is nice when you buy a new firearm and it comes in a rugged hard plastic carry case.

Hi Patio! Glad you signed up! Did you sign up as an individual membership? The Palmetto Sharpshooters are not in the Deep South Region. The Palmetto Guards are though! You can certainly join a team outside the region, but if you want to shoot on a team that attends Deep South Region...

Competitive shooters, a moment of your time please.

A couple of thoughts from me - 10+ year N-SSA competition shooter. When shooting off hand with a revolver, make sure you take your free hand and put it in a pocket, or loop your thumb in your belt, or otherwise anchor it so that your free arm/hand is not waving in the breeze, slightly moving...
