Say PK are you back by Island Lake again? Any interest in doing some muzzleloader shooting at Northern Sportsman’s Club range?

A Bad Fly or A Trash Lock?

Nope, it was a soft fly that allowed the sear to dig into it. New fly and properly hardened and it shoots perfectly. Cotton

I’m in the Duluth area also, where do you shoot? I belong to the Northern Sportsman’s Club and we have a range on the North side of Island Lake, we ought to get together and burn some powder!

A Bad Fly or A Trash Lock?

It wasn’t that big of an issue, just bought another fly then fitted and hardened it. I was fitting and polishing the components to the lock anyways.

A Bad Fly or A Trash Lock?

I had an issue with the “Large Siler Lock” that came with my John Armstrong Rifle Kit I bought. I finally discovered after a lot of tinkering that the “Fly” had not been properly hardened and the sear was actually digging into the fly and creating a small notch that would catch whenever the set...

    Lining an antique double?

I decided not to purchase this double. I determined that having the barrels lined was cost prohibitive and since the gun wasn’t in my possession I wasn’t able to examine it to determine the extent of the corrosion and I didn’t want a “wall hanger” regardless. Thanks for all the good information...

    Lining an antique double?

The bores on this one look quite good, the only corrosion is in the internal breech area.

    Lining an antique double?

I have an opportunity to pick up a very nice looking English Double which has corrosion inside the breech area. I am not interested in it for a wall hanger but was wondering what the approximate cost of having the barrels lined would be and if that would even be recommended. Cotton

How Far Can You Make Successful Kill Shots ?.

I’m 70 years old and a former Marine Expert Rifleman that has been shooting quite a lot for over 60 of those years. It is quite possible to accurately shoot long ranges with either iron sights or optics if you really know your rifles ballistics and practice regularly. If at all possible I use a...
