    Left handed flintlock question

There are plenty of LH rifle kits available. Check Pecatonica River, that's where mine came from. I'm 61 and have shot RH guns most of my life. Several years ago, I decided that If I were buying or building, it would be LH.

Patch lube for round ball shooting..........Lawdy.

I use this for cleaning, not patch lube, 1 part rubbing alcohol, 1 part peroxide and 1/2 part Murphy's Oil Soap. It works well for me.

    Offhand shooting?

I shoot air rifles offhand a lot and it helps with the muzzleloader shooting. I can't shoot with my feet at a 45° to the target. My stance is almost in line with the imaginary line from me to the targe. (I think pistol shooters shoot this way), my back foot will out a little. If the line ran...

    Pecatonia River Long Rifle Supply

My barrel inlet was just the opposite, I had to use epoxy to raise the barrel. I bought a Virginia kit without a barrel from them, they didn't have a .40 caliber. They did mess up on the hardware, I ordered steel with a cap lock, they sent brass with a flintlock. All was made good and I'd buy...

    Draw filing

From reading this thread, I probably filed mine wrong. I started with long files, probably 20" and filed lengthwise. Once the flats were straight and flat, I went with smaller finer files, then to sandpaper.

    Marking your targets

I got into the habit of writing information on my targets when ammo testing, whether it be centerfire, rimfire, airgun or black powder. I like to take photos with my phone, then transfer them to a folder for that particular rifle on the computer. At 61 my memory isn't what it used to be, the...

    36 ,40 which I ne

I love my .40. Since I have a LH flintlock laying around, I've been considering building a .36. Most likely will do another .40, it makes more sense.
