    Re bore.

Is there a rule of thumb, as far as boring out rifle barrels? More preciously, I was interested to know what is the largest caliber you can bore a 7/8', new octagon barrel to?

    Stuck Nipple

Do they, or wouldn’t it be nice if they made a socket type tool to remove old Rusty nipples? My traditional wrench won’t cut it. I think it’s an 11. This is an old 8 Gauge English Fowler…

    SOLD .36 Caplock Squirrel rifle

Putting together a SMR , so I have decided to pass on my trusty Squirrel rifle of 30 years. Not hating on the Crockett or DGW guns, but this would be a more custom upgrade in my opinion. Walnut stocked, 13 3/8 lop, 35 1/2 strait, 3/4 “ Barrel. Bore is great, barrel has really turned a pleasing...

SOLD South Carolina scrimshaw Powder horn

Here’s a really clean, virgin SC state seal, horn. Really nice lines, and she comes in at just under 10 inches, ready for whatever strap/ bag combo you would like. I was going to age the horn, but I’ll leave that taste up to the new owner. If she was wearing a NC seal now, I’d let her stay home...

    WITHDRAWN Confederate D gaurd withdrawn

Beautiful hand forged Bowie, by master knife maker Douglas Hardy, of Franklin GA. This thing is a beast! Been in the collection for years, time to pass her on. Has one small split in the handle, that does not go all the way through. It has not widened in years so I never even tried to glue it. I...

    SOLD Pedersoli Bess, sold

Good morning, I originally wanted a carbine Bess. Did not like the 31 “ barrel setup that they come with. This is my interpretation of a handy lightweight and very good hunting BB. It’s a Pedersoli so no more needs to be said on quality. It’s a tad bit longer with a 34” barrel, wich to me to me...

On English or Belgium double barrel shotguns, from the 1850-70's, what finish was typically used? In the white, blued, or browned? Thanks!

On double barrel shotguns from the 1850- 1870's, with Damascus steel, what was the finish typically on the barrels? White, blue or brown? English or Belgium. Thanks

    Thoughts on a hooked breech

I have a full stock Hawken style/ plains rifle. I love the rifle, it fits me perfectly. It’s a .58 flintlock, late English lock. 1” 36” barrel, I’m not sure what brand. Are they generally marked underneath? The only thing that could be an improvement to me would be to have the removable breech...

    Maple

Having only worked with walnut, my question is about sandpaper. I have a fancy maple stock that I want to finish. What grit paper should I end up using last after wiskering, before applying the aqua fortis? Do folks go as high as 600? or is that unnecessary? Thanks

    Toeplate thoughts

Good morning. What are some thoughts on installing a Toeplate on a SMR? Seems that I should inlet it first? Then fit the buttplate? Or am I thinking backwards? Thanks.

    SOLD Flintlock Scout

Good afternoon, up for consideration is my Pedersoli Scout carbine in .50 cal. This is a handy little rifle and been a super deer rifle for me. Does well with .490 round ball or heavier conical. Set triggers are awesome and always had fast ignition, I love the small lock, and these rifles fit...

    British something 1842ish?

Good afternoon forum. This rifled musket came out of Fredericksburg VA. The lock says Barnes and company, with what appears like the British Crown. I know that it’s not the typical 3 band Enfield. No bands it’s pinned. It has an interesting front sight, no rear. Thought it may be an officer or...

    Remove a plug or not

New builder question. I have a Rice 4 bore Blunderbuss barrel with breech plug installed already. Would it hurt to remove the plug, inlett that first, or inlett it as one unit? Is removing the plug not a good idea? Thanks
