    Green Mountain barrels for Thompson

Yes, they made them for T/C and the Italian guns. I have one and it is heavy.

    Investarm Hawken question

All T/C .54 that I have seen are 1" ATF. I fit a Green Mountain drop in that was made for an Investarm to a T/C frame. I had to change out the breech plug to a T/C and cut the barrel rib off about 3/16 inch. The snail was not cut out to fit the T/C lock plate correctly. If you are not wanting...

MTN ARMS INC. OZARK MO USA

It favors my .36 muskrat, but I don't think the muskrat came in a .54. I also have a .50 OMA.

    Should I Buy This?

After a little research, that gun may be well worth the 3k if it belonged to George "Baby Face" Nelson. "Jeasus saves but George Nelson withdraws"

Looking forward to the range report, gun and load details.

Is it safe to use Pyrodex 30 in...

I would rather have 30 grains of feathers dropped on my head than 30 grains of lead. I believe the ballistic coefficient of each will make all the difference. I have only used pyrodex 50 pellets in a break open T/C 50Cal. It used 205 primers and plastic sabots. That was before I went black and...

    Should I Buy This?

Spend the 3K on exactly what you want. There is not a huge market for a 3k reproduction Hawken with someone else's name on it. That is a very nice looking rifle and TOTW knows the value of a custom built Hawken. But..... you are not the CUSTOMer it was built for. So really not a custom rifle...

    Double Trigger

No, mine doesn't have any Uberti stamps. Just the Western Arms and .54cal.

    Double Trigger

The signatures that are etched in blind spots are probably for identifying the gun if it is stolen. I have seen them under toe plates and butt plates too.

    Double Trigger

The .54 cal is going to be more like .53 cal. So a .526 ball is what my gun takes.

    Double Trigger

http://grrw.org/uberti-santa-fe-hawken/ This site has a lot of good information on your rifle. Also I stand corrected, it did come in a kit according to this Ad.

    Double Trigger

I bought a T/C Seneca that was advertised as "not working" . The only problem was the triggers needed adjusting. The screw was turned all the way in and the triggers were locked up. After 4 or so turns out they worked great. Easy fix...

    Double Trigger

Preacher, that screw between the triggers appears to be run in as far as it will go. Back it out four or five turns. You should be able to set the triggers then. Best to do with the triggers out so that you are not dry firing the gun. That is a very nice gun and is not a kit. I don't believe...

    A few books to read!

A month or so back Notchy Bob turned me on to James Clyman. I have been keeping an eye out for his book, Journal Of A Mountain Man. I have also been looking for a set of, The Book of Buckskinning 1-8. Well at an auction they other day I found both. But ended up buying several more books. I have...

    .40 for Squirrels?

If all you have is a .40 than that is perfect for small game. But if you have a .32 or .36 they are excellent too. The smaller caliber will save you some lead and powder over the .40. My .40 is more accurate over 50 yards. At .25 yards they are about the same. So if you are going to shoot...
