What mistakes have you noticed in movies/tv shows that happen in the BP era like Daniel Boone, Patriot etc?

I like how in the TV series Bonanza, they would ride back and forth from the Ponderosa to Virginia City several times a day. They had some very fast horses.

Let's see....medical advantages..... well doctors giving pills rather than telling their patients they have to stop eating the junk they eat. No more house calls, or that exercise and diet will cure the majority of ailments Americans suffer from. Do you know, before 1914, very few of Americans...

MilitaryHeritage.com ( Access Heritage Inc ) Imperial Guard Infantry Musket. 1766 or 1777?

I have held in my hands an original Springfield musket back in 1987. I don't know if it was a 1795 or a 1816, for I was not interested in flintlock muskets at the time. What I do find amusing though, is all the comments on how modern-day factory produced muskets, are not exact copies of the...

SOLD Jukar Spain 45 Cal. Pistol

This was the first muzzleloading pistol I built. I bought it as a kit in upstate NY for $35.00 in 1976. The trigger pull, if I remember correctly, was about 10lbs.

    Armadillo

As young boys, my older brother and I trapped muskrat on the river bank in the woods behind our house in the early 1960s. We developed a love for the outdoors that has not faded after all these years.

    Southern California Flintlock Gunsmiths

As a fellow southern California inthuseist, I have come to learn to do everything I need done by myself. There is a bunch of information out there to equip one in doing his own gunsmithing. Even when California was a pro-gun state, I still had to do my own fixes on muzzleloaders. Muzzleloading...

What kind of stuff do you all read?

There was an old book I borrowed from the library about 40 years ago called "The Old North West". The book was written about 1930, and it coverd the fur trade just before the French and Indian War. It was most interesting to say the least. I do not know if it could be found today.

I have always wanted to read Bill Jordan's book "No Second Place Winner". I do know if it is still in print.

Stopping power of the 1860 Army

There is still some discussion as to whether Mr. Hickok used a Colt Dragoon or a thirty-six Colt Navy in his shoot out with Mr. Tutt. I am sure, as he was falling to the street, after being hit from seventy-five yards away, he did not really care.

Looks like the same email I received 2 years ago. I did receive my order in a timely fashion, and the musket was in excellent condition. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

    How do you eat them

Have you ever tried Ugali ? I hope I spelled it correctly. It is a mound of grits covered in many different kinds of vegetables, it is a common African dish.
