    WANTED Pistol Kits

Thank you so much! It's a REAL Queen Anne! (Not like the traditions one that's just a muzzleloader made to look like a Queen anne). I am in your debt my friend

Homemade Holster for my Kentucky Pistol

It is. I wear it cowboy holstered on my left side. Big pistol like that is easier draw from across.

Homemade Holster for my Kentucky Pistol

From what I've seen, this might not be too historically inaccurate except that you wouldn't have likely seen an open bottom. To note: "In the 1850s, as a wide variety of handguns were developed, holster styles rapidly developed as well. Many civilian holsters mimicked the military holsters with...

    WANTED Pistol Kits

I'm itching to do another. I am tempted to do one of the Queen Ann's pistol kits, As it's one of the few I can find in stock anywhere, But I don't like the fact that the kit is not a genuine Queen Anne's pistol is a stole but just made to look like one (i.e. not a breach loader/screw barrel).

When would a soldier "cap" their pistol?

...but it seems like that would run the risk of your cap falling off the nipple

When would a soldier "cap" their pistol?

Interesting, but I'm wondering about single shot muzzleloaders.

When would a soldier "cap" their pistol?

So you've heard of "cowboy loading" a revolver (only loading 5/6 chambers so jostling doesn't cause accidental discharge) but I'm wondering: in leading up to a battle, at what point would soldiers "cap" their percussion cap pistols?

Recommendations for restoring vintage Browning USA knife?

I was given this vintage Browning USA Model 40 - All Purpose Hunting Knife, fixed blade (Browning 4018). The previous owner certainly didn't take care of it. The handle is in goodshape but, as you can see in the pictures, the blade is badly pitted and corroded. It's so bad that my my only idea...

New Member - just finished my first build. Thoughts?

Oh if I had to guess, maybe around 70 hours - but it was a learn-as-you-go process. I'm eager to do another, could probably carve in half the time.

New Member - just finished my first build. Thoughts?

Not noticeably so. The majority of the weight is in the big hunkin barrel.

TRADE Still looking to trade for a wakizachi or large tanto.

I hear ya. Good sword blanks are hard to find. I've been looking to make a gladius for some time but finding a blank in quality steel has been hard to come by. I made a shirasaya a while back as a gift and haven't found much since.
