    I know how you feel. Look into a Kibler Southern Mountain Rifle in 45 cal. I have one in 40 cal, it's light and the 45 is lighter.

    If you make one approximately 55-58" you should be okay. The barrel is 39 3/4" and the length of pull is 13 7/16".
