    Brimshiner

A bullet lube search on Amazon came up with this brand of lube. Hadn’t seen it before. Any one use it. A visit to the website, Brimshiner.com reveled they also have their own brand of blackpowder in all the F granule's. Out of stock of course.

    Schutzen Musket vrs CCI

How do the two brands of caps compare. Grafs has Schutzen. Reason for asking is RWS are recommended for the Sharps but CCIs work fine. Will the Schutzen works as well as the CCIs. Minim order is 1000. No problem if there are as least as hot as CCI’s. I’m down to two tins and summer is here.

    Garret Sharps Carbine.

I have one of these. If any one has any experience shooting them I’d appreciate any information you can give me. Tried mine out yesterday. Won’t fire with CCI musket caps unless I dribble a few kernels of 3F into the nipple first. Each shot locked up the falling block. To open I’d removed the...

    Patch Knife

From time to time I see for sale or other references to a “patch knife”. I use an old pocket knife that is part of my range kit. It cuts a nice round circle at the muzzle but I could see that in field use it would not be practical for follow up shots. Does a patch knife have a different shape...

    Firing the ramrod down range.

Mining the clubs 25 yard back stop for lead a few years back. Found several pieces of ram rod including the jag tip embedded in the dirt. Fired from a gun?? Is that possible or would any one actually admit to it. I’ve dry balled a few long guns and revolver cylinders, distraction pulled my...

    Muzzle Loaders

Muzzle loading Forum. I’m new to this forum and my basic interest is in percussion revolvers. It’s a very fine forum and I wish I had discovered it 20 years ago. Are percussion revolvers considered “muzzle loaders”. I suppose not in the strictest sense as they aren’t loaded from the “muzzle”...

    SOLD Lee Bullet Mold RI

Per photos. I bought this new in hopes the ball could be used in my Burnside Carbine. Unfortunately it won’t chamber, nose profile is wrong I suppose. Bullet photo on right is the Burnside. I cleaned the mold and blackened it then cast four bullets, other than that it’s little used. $35.00 plus...

    Burnside Carbine.

I’ve managed to purchase one of these with out taking out a second mortgage. A range session this morning I shot 30 rounds using 2F powder and a .562 roundball. Function was great accuracy, not so much. Groups at 50 yards were rather large. A box of 50 .558 x375 grain hollow base bullets came...
