    First evening hunt of the season

    Paddled the canoe 45 minutes for an evening hunt at the same place I killed the doe last Saturday. This place is covered with acorns. The turkeys have it torn to pieces too. Already seen about 20 of them since I got here. Old road bed 50 yards in front and a scrape 35 yards behind. Wish me luck!

    Value of 1851 sheriffs model

    What y’all say the value is of this pistol? I’ve searched the net and can’t find one identical to it. It’s a Pietta that came from Cabelas at some point. At least I think it did. It’s a 44 cal. I’ve never had a BP pistol and found this one, but I have no idea what’s a fair price.

    Target Size?

    What diameter target do y’all use? I went the range yesterday and was shooting at a 4” diameter red dot. It was ok till I started losing the light. I could barely see that sucker at 50 yards and it disappeared at 100. Either I’m shooting at the wrong size target for open sights or I’ve gone blind.😳

    Which powder

    Hello everyone. New member here with a simple question for you. I’ve been shooting ML’s of various types for years, but have never tried real black powder. Now I’m thinking I might give it a go, so with a 50 cal. rifle should I be thinking 3f for powder?
