What are your favorite Thompson Center (T/C) Percussion guns?

I like the treehawk (so ugly I can’t help but like it) and the .56 SB renegade.

How to keep hunting load dry?

I’ve always just hunted and not worried about it. As others have said, cap is pretty water resistant and a tight fitting patch with the muzzle pointed down is just fine. I am always more worried about condensation.

Bad Shot Leaves a Hard Tracking Job

Congrats! Good job staying with the blood trail. ALWAYS go back to the last place you have sign if you lose the trail. I’ve found a few deer and elk that way also.

    Leaving Rifle Loaded

Unless it’s been exposed to rain (or condensation), I leave it loaded. I also don’t bring my hunting rifle from below zero to a warm house and back out multiple times.

TC sidelocks , how many different models ?

Don’t forget that the treehawk and new englander could have been had with 12 gauge barrels. Also the 56 sb renegade. I know someone already mentioned renegade, but the smoothie was a bit different.

Cast some .50 and .54 maxi balls for hunting season. Also painted the front sight on two of my T/Cs.
