    Kibler's solution

I used the JAX black brass, copper & bronze darkener from Kibler store. Even though it says nothing about blackening steel, it really works well as recommended by Jim. Easy to apply, fast acting and you can get an even color coat. Remove black with 0000 steel wool to the desired...

Trying to find info on a specific flintlock....

Most definitely looking into either finding a used Lehigh / Hatfield or having a custom one built to my specs. I do want it to be a working / common man's rifle with a high grade stock, few inlays, and I already have some nice engraving ideas...................Labrat

Trying to find info on a specific flintlock....

Thanks Dave.. Allen Martin has some beautiful Lehigh Valley rifles. I especially like the Schimmel rifle with no bells or whistles which would look nice with my Kibler. I would not consider doing a self build kit on this one. No more wood work or carving, had enough! I'll look around for a...

Trying to find info on a specific flintlock....

Thank You Dave that was one of the pictures I've seen before and fell in love with it's design & small stature. In my opinion the look & design really sets this rifle apart. I'm thinking of adding one to hang with my Kibler colonial.......Andy I like it on the poor boy especially a two barrel...

Trying to find info on a specific flintlock....

Trying to find info on a specific flintlock....

Looking for info & where I can find pictures of a flintlock design. They look very small, narrow and petite but are not miniature rifles. The neck of the hand grip is wider than it is deep. Reminds me of a duck bill. What region are they from, etc. Thanks for any info...................Labrat

Hatman- yes I did the engraving. learned to engrave some 20 years ago as one of my hobbies..............Stykbow- The wire to steel is held in place by making a series of undercuts inside the main channel walls. Then you place the wire in the channel and hammer the wire flat so that the soft...

    Whats on your holiday table?

Thank you all for sharing your table with all of use. Myself I had a traditional turkey & Ham with sides. Never aquired a taste for wild meats and was interesting to hear what others feast on. Nothing too bad that I wouldn't try if I had the chance. How Blessed we are to have food &...

    Chisels?

Hello & Welcome. First off I am 98% near completion of my Kibler colonial kit and I had no wood carving experience so I can only give you my knowledge from that prospective. If you are going to carve on a solid block of wood then you'll need some serious chisels & hammers beyond my abilities...
