    Just One Gun

In my experience, I believe that the muscle memory related to stance, posture and movement I developed in 10 years of competitive archery tournaments has transferred somewhat to my muzzle loader shooting. In changing to different rifles, I find that if I shoot just one for several months,I...

    New in Arizona

Welcome from Tucson! I understand there are some really nice bulls in there and good rut vocals. With only 50 tags, should be a quality hunt. I will be heading out to unit 8 for a fat cow, AZGFD having moved the season back a couple weeks. Good luck!

Any other crazy kids out there?

An old 4 legged washer towed behind a pickup on a long rope works cool until you try to stop.... also relates to trying to figure out the trajectory of a mailbox which has been airlifted by an M-80:rolleyes:

    Elk hunting max range.

Amen! Good powder, good aim and a freight train of lead help insure an ethical and effective hunt.

    Elk hunting max range.

Max effective range might be different than max ethical range, depending on wind, angle of shot, has animal been excited and running, etc. As ADK Bigfoot said, closer is better. Make the first shot count, before you get all jittery and weak-kneed.;)

    Building concept.....Waiting for the turn

I think the turn can apply in multiple disciplines. A few years ago, I also received the dreaded "reeks of impatience" on some of my paintings I sent in for evaluation from the Society of Animal Artists. After much reflection, I spent 400+ hours on my next painting, forcing myself to slow down...

    T/C Maxi Balls and Elk

Having used both soft and hard maxi-hunters on elk, I prefer the soft. going into the engine room, it will destroy mightily from frontal or side, seem to be a tad more reliable and accurate. JMHO.

    Ratio unmentionables to BP firearms?

A man has to have at least one pistol, big and small bore rifle and shotgun in UM, same in BP, still dreaming of getting a fowler.
