    Rampart carriage built I guess

    Couldn’t afford another tube ( according to corporate financial wife),so built this to fit the cannon from my field carriage. It’s freakishly heavy.

    Fortification carriage build

    All white oak, dropped barrel to check fit. Now will attach trunnion caps and fit elevation device and a piece of oak up front for barrel rest. Wheels were made on the table saw, thanks to YouTube.

    Trying to make a naval mount for my field cannon

    I picked up some 3x3 rough oak blocking that on a load of red iron and sheet metal for a big building they were throwing out. It’s hard to transport a field piece. But much easier in a naval carriage. Anyone got any ideas I need to do let me know. Never did this before

    got itch for a hern 1841. half scale...have some 30'' hickory wheels 1 1/2'' wide tread to use. either cannon or make a limber for my 1857.

    WITHDRAWN round ball mold .430

    anyone have a .430 or .420 mold laying in your drawer? I think that is the size I need for my HA underhammer rifle the caliber is not .45 looks like a .44 cal.

    Final 1857 Napoleon half scale cannon final

    Thanks to all who kept me going and gave tips and suggestions. All the kind words kept me on task. Don’t want to build another one whew. I’m not saying this is the right way to build one, and it’s not perfect. But this is how I did it with my skill level resources and tools I had.Phil

    1857 Napoleon small update

    Rigged cannon tool holder, added wood on the axle at each end to give illusion of bent axle like the full sized ones. Just adding that wood really made it look quite different!

    Got cheeks lined up drilled and bolts in. Super stressful drilling straight across. Took a mountain of time lining all up right. Glad that is over. Will take apart now and clean up cheeks and drill for trunnions.
