Where can I get this powder measure?

I have one of those I found at either TOW or somewhere similar. I love the elegance of it, and hate width of it. A bit narrow for pouring in the powder. I use my smallest mouthed horn on the bag with that measure.

    Blue ridge authenticity

It's buttstock, comb, and wrist is like some of the extreme Lehigh Valley guns of the late Golden Age/Federal Era. It doesn't look Southern at all. It's not SMR shape at all. It's definitely also not like the frontier guns of Carolina. Of course... today Blue Ridge refers to Western North...

    georgia made rifles?

Son of Savannah me... and yall all wrong. The most ornate silver mounted longrifle ever made in North America is from Georgia. Yall middle-GA Macon folk? Look southwest, cause that's where it came from. It's featured in R.L. Wilson's book about guns-as-art(maybe The Peacemakers?) Georgia was...

    Which Flintlock Deer Rifle

I'm a Georgian. And I live in Alabama. Biggest deer I killed weighed 200lbs DRT, undressed, as I shot him. He was an 11 point deer I thought was an 8 point at 160 yards. I shot him in the backbone. Through a hogwire fence. In the rain/fog of November. With a .30-06. I would have never...

What lock would you use for a custom build

I have a similar bit different rifle: "Proud Mary" my .54 Leman. Full stock, 36 inch straight .54 barrel. She's a handful. Made from a Pecatonica parts kit I think.

what do you use when swabbing between shots?

Depends. For target shooting, just water. For hunting practice I shoot from a clean barrel each shot, so I clean it up and dry it out and do it all over again. Luckily with BP that just means a couple minutes wet and dry swabbing.

What lock would you use for a custom build

Not apples to apples at all. Not to get into too much unmentionable talk, but a .25-06 can do a great deal a .30-06 cannot. And then accomplish almost everything a .30-06 can do as well. Unless you just enjoy 220gr .30 bullets and recoil. Roundballs are not at all akin to smokeless...

opinion needed, best all around muzzleloader!

Gets back to other factors like location. I live in Alabama. I guess a southern Black Bear is a large dangerous animal, but only if you're really, really unlucky. Otherwise only humans are large dangerous animals in The South. And anything bigger than a .32 is sufficient for two legged...

opinion needed, best all around muzzleloader!

That just got me thinking: if one were going for a pre-percussion gun of equal versatility, a swivel barrel might be best. Did anyone ever make a swivel barrel with one smooth and one rifled barrel? Like a Drilling? Or is that exactly where two barreled Drillings came from? Seems to me, apart...
