    Priming flask

I just finished up a little priming flask. Whitetail antler, ebony end cap, poured pewter ferrule. I'm trying to decide whether to keep the crude scrimshaw, or sand it off. I made this as a prototype, thinking I could sell them. After I figured out what I have in it, and my time, I'd have to...

    Toeplate detail question

I stole this picture from another thread, because I didn’t want to highjack a for sale post. This is an original Ohio rifle, showing the detail of the buttplate meeting the toeplate. I’ve never seen one where the buttplate was filed to match the toeplate; always the other way around. Seems...

    Patch/utility knife and turnscrew.

I made this patch/utility knife out of an old handsaw blade. Deer antler grip. It is kind of based on an early 18th century Scottish knife. Seems to really hold an edge. I decided to put the sheath for it on my possible bag strap (also made by my hand.) Then, just because, I made the little...

    FOR SALE Flint Wallet

Flint Wallet by my hand. I used to just keep a few flints loose in my hunting pouch, until I cut the hammered shucks out of myself while rooting around for something… so being somewhat prudent, I made a flint wallet. I liked it so much I made one for my son. He liked it so much I decided to...

    I'm in a bit of a quandary

I just purchased an 1851 Colt "Navy." I had a brass framed one way back in the 1970's and had a lot of fun with it, and wanted to get another, but with a steel frame. I ordered the .36 caliber. What showed up on my doorstep was a .44. A large part of me is like "historically, that thing is an...

    Hello!

Hello everyone! I have been shooting muzzle loaders for just over 40 years. It didn't take much effort on my part to get my son into the obsessive hobby either. Together, we do some F&I reenacting. Live in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
