Which round ball for T/C Seneca .36

.375 ball will work fine in your TC Seneca. You just need to prepare them by melting them down and running the lead through a .350 ball mold.😉

    Pedersoli Tryon 50 cal

I recently purchased a 50 Calibre Tryon Rifle which presented very well. When I tried to look into the bore with a Thill bore light I couldn’t see anything. When I got it home and started to clean it the bore was filthy. The previous owner claimed he had cleaned it but patches came out dark...

Dry patch then if needed another patch with Muzzle Magic or equivalent bp solvent then another dry and an oily patch, I use G96. Nipple cleaned with a plixter then copper based anti seize grease before refitting. I...

    Shooting all by one’s lonesome

I guess I’m lucky, my club puts on a BP match indoors twice a month, once for single shot ml rifle and pistol and once for Cap and ball revolvers

    Those T/C Small Bores

I have a Seneca .36 with a spare .45 cal barrel. Over the years I have acquired a mini ball mold, a new old stock TC tool and peep sight for the Seneca. At short to medium range with 40gr of 3fg and a patched round ball it is deadly accurate. I will never part with it.

    Cleaning

Every time cleaned in bp solvent scrubbed on the outside with a small brush inside with dental plixters then a dab of copper based grease before replacement.

Removal of stuck patch and hardware

I use a steel and brass range rod for loading,it has a flat end and if I try to use it for cleaning the flat end jams in the patent breech on my TC Seneca so I use the ramrod to clean as it has a more egg shaped end.

    TC Hawken Damaged Screw?

So I have heard, This is not the first time this subject has been raised. Some think it’s a clean out screw and others follow your view. Buggered if I know but now I leave it alone.

    TC Hawken Damaged Screw?

Both my TC’s have the screw but on the opposite side of the breech. For years I removed them for cleaning purposes then replacing them with a smidgen of copper grease. A waste of time, I don’t any more, one more vote for leave them alone.

I use a brass funnel with a 4in shaft on my .36cal ml rifle. It makes pouring the powder easier. I use a short funnel with a shaft the size of the bore on my ss pistol and OA revolver for the same reason.
