Have you tried a 1/4-28 thread ? As sloppy as it sounds you could tell evan with a hardware screw bolt of the same thread. it will tell you if it will tighten up. You only have a minor difference in thread pitch of 1/4 (.250 )x 28 TPI and 6 mm ( .236'' ) x 1 (24,5 . TPI) Over the few thread...

    Can this stock be fixed?

I had the same crack on a rifle I bought once. I took a piece of .020'' lightly perforated steel shim stock 4'' long that fit the 3 bottom flats of the barrel real close. I embed this into the barrel groove over the crack so it set just a smidgen below into the stock under the barrel. I prepared...

Sam, That was the first one I made from my original Ace. That is a hexagon wrench to take off the barrel . I was sort of going with the muff pistol screw off barrel type piece. That was a lot of dinken around to make . The later one are all end loaders. And to Pietro, yes I like the long...

    Witnessed Unsafe Behaviors

I just re-watched Centennial for the second time in my life last week, as the first in 1978 when it was a major TV hit. I just watched Pasquinel blow down the bore after taking a attacking native American out, insuring a clear bore and touch hole for the next shot. I really do not think this...

    Witnessed Unsafe Behaviors

I have witnessed undersize nipple blow out twice, once in compaction on the firing range, took my hat off. That was with a old Tingle rifle I had acquired at the time. I ended up remaking the drum. Second a friend whole dam drum blew out side ways. Lucky no body to his right side as we were...

    Witnessed Unsafe Behaviors

Very Kind of you to answer. I always had the habit of blowing down the barrel also and was kindly reprehended on the firing line as of late. Been a few years since I shot out with other on a range. I guess it kind a makes sense to not have the muzzle of your gun in your mouth. But I found it...

    Witnessed Unsafe Behaviors

May I ask what the dismay in blowing down a barrel is after a shot . Seemed proper back 40 years ago, but unpopular now and not allowed on the firing range. Is their a story to go with this ban. Thank you.
