    Replica Remington Police model?

Old FIE 1858 Remington .44 Brass Frame Revolver

I have a couple of these revolvers. Both of them do that - with the nipples off to the right side of the hammer slot. Just a thing with these FIE imports, apparently. Doesn't seem to affect function at all.

    Lyman Great plains Signature series

My understanding is that they offered this Signature Series for only about a year or so, at which time Lyman decided to get out of the BP business all together. I ended up with a couple of them, myself. A .50 percussion and a .54 flintlock. Both were bought new retail. I picked up the .50 in...

Timely question - I just posted up this video today :)

    NEW Taylor’s “Ace” Pistol

I'm willing to bet the trigger/bolt spring broke. These springs break all the time in Piettas. Thankfully they are cheap and easy to replace. Buy several to keep as spares - you'll probably need them.

    NEW Taylor’s “Ace” Pistol

Nice! I know we are not supposed to talk about those cylinders here, but the ACE seems like they are just made for them. I get better accuracy and it hits closer to point of aim with them compared to the percussion cylinder. I'm really liking the way the fluted cylinder looks in it, too...

    RWS #11 Percussion Caps

RWS 1075 throw more sparks than any other caps I've used.

Competitive shooters, a moment of your time please.

Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not suggesting to not dry fire. I do it all the time, and it is an invaluable tool to be effective in the shooting sports. But it is just one tool in the toolbox. Just like an airgun is another tool to use for certain occasions. All trigger time is good -...

Competitive shooters, a moment of your time please.

This is the way. Not as economical as dry firing, but an air pistol is cheap to shoot, has no recoil and gives you feedback on how your shot actually broke - which is something dry firing can't really do. I have a Diana Airbug, which is a CO2 powered pistol with good sights and a decent...

Competitive shooters, a moment of your time please.

I get so many comments on my videos that my finger placement is wrong - that I should only be using the tip and not the joint. You know what? It doesn't matter - as long as you can pull the trigger straight back without pushing or pulling it to one side it doesn't matter one whit how you do...

Competitive shooters, a moment of your time please.

Maybe I can help a little. I'm not a great shot, but I do OK, and this is what works for me. Stance I used to be completely sideways (90* to the target), but I have found that more of a 45* angle puts less fatigue on the deltoid, and seems to allow me to keep the pistol up for longer without...

gun safes and cap and ball stories...

Absolutely despise thieves. I lost a number of things to a break-in over a decade ago. It is one of the worst feelings knowing that some scumbag violated your home.

I have. Similar results to what Jappo said. I haven't played around with it since.

    Ultrasonic cleaner for revolvers?

I have tried using an ultrasonic cleaner for BP, but I don't really like it. As mentioned above, they work well for smokeless powder fouling, but there seems to be something about BP that makes an ultrasonic not so effective. Just plain old hot soapy water and a little elbow grease works the best.

    Spiller and Burr Cylinders?

The new ones have the safety cuts in the cylinder. Maybe if you can find one, an older model cylinder might work? My 1991 made Pietta S&B does not have any safety notches.

Is it recommended to bore out cylinder to barrel diameter on Italian replica revolvers?

That's kind of the direction I was going with my question. We firearms enthusiasts tend to get a kick out of modifying things - sometimes just for the sake of modifying things, whether they need them or not. I'd say you should really get a good idea of how the revolver shoots, and factor that...
