Uberti 1849 Pocket Revolver Range Report

Which slixshot nipples did you use on your Uberti 1849 pocket? The action on mine is smooth. I'd like to get Slixshot nipples for it and my Uberti 1862 police.

Ruger Old Model Army brass grip frame

I was just looking for bicentennial ROAs on GB. I found two completed auctions. One, with no box or docs, went for over $800, earlier this month. Almost makes one not want to shoot theirs.

That makes sense. I can't see a type A personality having the patience for muzzle loading.

Uberti 1849 Pocket Revolver Range Report

I've been unable to locate .330" balls, .330" ball molds, and 00 buckshot locally or online. I did locate .350" balls locally. If the extra .020" OD proves too much for loading on the frame, I'll load off the frame using a press. Thanks for the link to the Slixshot nipples. I don't see an extra...

Uberti 1849 Pocket Revolver Range Report

I just received my Uberti 1849 pocket Friday. What hammer spring did you order, and where? Just in case I have issues with mine. Also, where is a good place to get the Slixshot nipples?

    Meat in da been pot

Gordon Ramsay had camel meat cooked in a clay pot and said it was very good. I need for my job to send me to Morocco, so I can try it.

    Priming Horn or Flask?

Was looking through my small belt bag that I keep with my flintlock and saw that I also have a small brass priming flask. Probably TC. Probably Italian made (like all but two of my BP guns). Spring loaded nozzle. It's one of those small neck primers. Forgot I had it. I say it's probably TC...

    Deer Tine Primer

That was just figgin' ingenious. I'm totally stealing that Idea. 60 grains is a LOT of pan priming.

Just a reminder about using BP only in a BP gun...

Disclaimer: Much of my previous reply was written in jest. I don't try to give cancer/silicosis/liver damage to gophers. However, it suffocates them with smoke, just like gopher gassers, only you get a LOT more gopher gasser for the money. That, and you can make them any size or shape and...

Just a reminder about using BP only in a BP gun...

Gophers go boom. Gophers that don't go boom, get cancer, silicosis, and liver damage. They end up dying in gopher hospice. Or their tunnels get condemned, and they have to move to new tunnels across town, Supposedly, the gases put off from combustion of Pyrodex are toxic, and not in a good...

    Powder Horn photos

I thought about buying a pair of longhorn cattle horns, to make powder and shot horns from. Yeah, they'd be big. And bulky. And cumbersome. But, they'd hold a bunch of powder and shot for a day of shotgun shooting.

    Priming Horn or Flask?

Horn. I bought a black priming horn made from bison horn with a spring loaded spout and elk hide strap. Got it from a guy on Ebay about 12 years ago. It goes perfectly with the black bison horn powder horn I bought from the same gent.

    Beeswax and Olive Oil

I make my patch/bullet/metal/wood/leather/lip lube from a 45/45/10 mix of beeswax, light olive oil,, and lanolin. Stiff enough to not run out of the grease hole in the stock of my Tennessee mountain rifle. Soft enough to apply to patches/boolits/leather/lips/barrels/chamber...

Just a reminder about using BP only in a BP gun...

I was joking. I don't use it in my BP guns because I hate cleaning out the fouling. I do use it as gopher gasser. So I guess I've been using it right, all along. I did get a couple of TC rifles for $30/each, because the previous owners didn't get all the Pyro fouling out and it pitted the bores.
