    Ultra Hi Kit Rifle

I had one and like the gun in this thread, mine was marked Spain on the barrel and on the inside of the lock. As far as I was concerned it was a Jukar. I had others also saying it was an ultra high by Miroku despite the fact that there was not anything at all on it saying Japan or Miroku.

T/C Renegade: Another “damaged in shipment” story…

If that is the only boxed it was shipped in the result is the fault of the guy shipping it. I have received or shipped many, many guns and not one damaged yet. There is something to be said for proper packing.

    SOLD .50 Hawken style rifle

Invest Arms is a maker. Gardone is a place in Italy. The gun in question is not an Invest Arms but was made by Ranson .

    SOLD Unfired Parker-Hale Volunteer

There is a volunteer rifle just listed on a Canadian forum. It has serial number H1601. It also has no stock cartouche.

Oh dear, this is not MY Canada......

In regards to the matchlock being taken into a school, it just shows how our great white knight's (Trudeau) policies are working. He has done a great job of dividing the country and instilling fear into most people as soon as a gun is mentioned or seen. Unfortunately it doesn't take much...

CVA Mountain rifle with stainless barrel?

Most likely a kit gun or a barrel bought seperately. They were in the white. Likely my gun was a kit gun and the original owner customized it at the time of building and left things in the white. But it was well looked after over the years.

CVA Mountain rifle with stainless barrel?

Here are a couple of pics of the muzzle and bore. The camera does pick up scratches on the muzzle. In regards to putting water on it to see if it rusts, the gun has the typical CVA tang. Over time, there was rust on the face of the tang and where the hook sits into. There was a tiny bit of rust...

CVA Mountain rifle with stainless barrel?

I guess I will have to go with the opinion of it being in the white. But I have to say whoever did the work shortening the barrel did a first rate job. It's a nice bush gun.

CVA Mountain rifle with stainless barrel?

Funny, I actually thought it has a fair bit of sheen to it. More than my Stainless Savage has or my inline had. It certainly may not be stainless but I'm really surprised at the condition of the bore and not sure why the Oxphoblue didn't really do anything. I was also just searching on the net...

CVA Mountain rifle with stainless barrel?

Yes, a magnet will stick on it. I read up on that and it depends on the alloy. It also said that most stainless steel gun barrels are magnetic.

CVA Mountain rifle with stainless barrel?

The one on mine is not a Hawken barrel. It is a 58 caliber Connecticut Valley Arms barrel with the two barrel tennons. The CVA Hawken only had one barrel tennon and I don't think they were 58 caliber.

CVA Mountain rifle with stainless barrel?

Does anyone know if CVA ever offered a limited run of mountain rifles with stainless barrels or offered optional stainless barrels? Here's the scoop. Last year I picked up a CVA mountain rifle in 58 caliber at auction. It was advertised as having a 28" stainless steel barrel. I figured yeah...

    Latest find

Yeah, there's been a few for sale here where the seller's are asking $1200-$1600.00 for guns like this. Of course who knows if they ever sell them at that price. Anyhow, I figured this one was worth far more than $250.00. Speaking of which, I have another on the way today that was also $250.00...

    Latest find

Just thought I'd show my latest acquistion. I'm guessing it was a custom build from a kit . Don't know if anyone can identify from where the kit might have been from? Anyhow, there is no maker's name just the letters AN on top of the barrel by the 50 cal stamping. On the bottom side is the Green...

Strange Day for Me in the Woods.

I lost the desire to kill anymore deer in 1996, waterfowl in 2018 and upland game in 2020. I guess I just decided I like to watch them more in their surroundings than on my table. Just something that happens to many at a certain point in life. I still will go out looking for upland birds but...

What Kind of Wood is This?

Yes Mowrey made a few different styles of muzzleloaders. I have a 50 caliber rifle as well as a smoothbore. Below is a pic of the smoothbore.

    Scottish Cape Gun

Yeah, I always toyed around with the idea of adding one to the collection but never did. When the owner of this one wanted to make a trade I figured "why not". While not a perfect specimen, it is functional and shows it's character of the past 170 years.

    Scottish Cape Gun

It is a rifled 50 caliber barrel. It is in its original configuration.
