What mistakes have you noticed in movies/tv shows that happen in the BP era like Daniel Boone, Patriot etc?

Hollywood has never let historical accuracy get in the way of a good story. They can't even get modern weapons right, let alone black powder/antique ones.

I've seen posts about people sending their "new" guns out to be tuned. Sometimes prior to even shooting them! Makes sense now!

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

That's good to know! So, Colt made crappy stuff just like the Italians! Sad for a great company like them.

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

That's an old wives tale. The 3rd Gen or Signature series are basically an italian repro that Colt licensed. That is NOT true for the first and second series. Attached is supporting documentation for inquiring minds.

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

Never mind, I'm an idiot. That was an 1851, not a 1860. Dang, I need to wear my glasses more often.

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

So, this post made me curious about mine. I was thinking it was a second generation. I pulled it out and it's a 1860 Signature Series. It has a silver backstrap and trigger guard, unlike the one in the auction. And, it's serial number 2. My eyes bugged out when I saw that! Not sure how much...

Good point, I forgot about that 15 min rule. Probably developed for just that reason.

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

Holy Black Powder Pistols Batman! So, is anyone gonna email the winner and tell him his mistake? That might be kinda like telling your friend his wife is cheating on him. You might get the backlash!

Signature Series 1860 sold for $3025... What?

Exactly, that's how you do it! And if you're especially froggie, you enter that bid just prior to the auction ending or use an application that will do it for you.
