    One of my favorite knives

Not PC in any way but a great belt/camp knife nonetheless, 10" blade. :)

    The Alamo

Watched it today. The BB Thornton one. Second time I’ve seen it and I liked it better this time.

    Carving antlers

Has anyone used wood burning tools on antlers? Does it work? I would imagine most use a Dremel for any carving work but curious if you can burn designs into the antler. Well I'm going to try it and I'll let you know how it goes..... :) I know the smell of burning antler is a unique odor.....

    Drying your tent?

How do you guys dry your canvas tents before storing them? Specifically if you camp in winter or spring with snow or wet conditions? I’m thinking of camping next week and tent will be in the snow while I set up and take down. Thanks!

    WITHDRAWN Buckskin fringed leggings

Looking for a pair 28" to 30" long will work. New or used. PM me if you have something you want to part with. Brain tan preferred but not a deal breaker. Thanks, :)

    Napoleon

Wife wants to see this, might just go too. At least it's not superheroes.

    Clocks back…

Looks like we turn them back this weekend. I’m turning mine back to 1820, how about you folks? :)

    Camp beds, let’s see some

Colman folding cot, Woods canvas sleeping bag good to -15F and a Crazy Crow camp blanket. Hudson Bay blanket on standby just in case. Great to crawl into at the end of the day!

Turkey breast or legs over open campfire

Anyone done this? Have done chicken on BBQ lots but never turkey pieces over open campfire. Recipes, thoughts, ideas or anything you can offer. Thinking of having Thanksgiving (October for Canada) at my black powder club campsite with the family, nothing super fancy just outdoors & simple.

    Cutlery…

Picked these up for my little camp. Rustic if not PC or HC. They will be useful :)

    What's up with Flints?...

I get 40+ shots out of some and 10 or less shots out of others before they look like a boxing glove. Amber or black ones, doesn't seem to matter. Doesn't help that I suck at putting an edge on them. Maybe I don't set them consistent either. Oh well, shoot & be happy. :)

    Panther Primitives Tents

Verdict is in: I really love my new 7x7 wedge tent. Very well made and so easy to set up. It's up and ready to go in 15 minutes, 1 man job. I got mine through Crazy Crow but anybody looking for a historic style tent, check out PP tents. Happy customer. :)

    HBC blanket

Was at a gun/antique show yesterday and picked up a nice 6 point blanket for a real good price. Nice addition to my rendezvous camp. :)

Big shout out to Blue Creek Traders

I've purchased 2 custom made buckskin shirts from these folks. Last one was a year ago. Received a text tonight from them checking to see if my family was ok, what with all the fires in Alberta. We are quite a ways south of the fire activity. Very thoughtful, and appreciated. Peg & Clint are...

    Box for my camp

Picked this up at an antique joint today. I was thinking it might be ok in my wedge tent to keep a cooler in, out of sight. It said late 1800’s on it but who knows? Anybody have any ideas? Wooden box covered in hammered brass. Pretty chunky to lift. Think it might fit a primitive style camp...

    Mountain man music

Listened online to a guy named Hawken Horse. Some good tunes mostly related to mountain fur era by the sound of it. Interesting.

    Primitive shooting bag

Well I tried to “primitive” my little elk pouch with some deerskin. It’s rough indeed but sort of got the effect I wanted. Don’t know if it’s mountain man but this mountain man will wear it. :)

    WANTED Primitive shooting bag.

There are some fine craftsmen/women on this forum. I have been looking at some shooting bags online mostly just pics of stuff and thought I’d post here. Primitive, rough beat up leather, rough or smooth out but the rougher the better. Ragged edge flap, uneven long fringe, prefer no buckles on...
