Value of NIB Zoli Harper's Ferry 58.?

I THINK Zoli made a few Harpers Ferry 1803s in .54 caliber. Mine, a Navy Arms Zoli in .58, sparks just fine.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Tuesday evening, I did a show and tell about the North-South Skirmish Association for my Sons Of Confederate Veterans camp. I brought along my Parker-Hale 1858 Naval rifle, a repo Smith carbine, an original Harpers Ferry 1842 musket and two revolvers- a repo Colt 1860 and a repo 1863 Remington...

What gun for early 1700's Virginia.

I have one ancestor, John Davis, who was born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, in 1706. Haven't been able to go back farther than that in the Davis line.

    So..... why a muzzleloading?

Growing up watching the Davy Crockett re-runs and later on Daniel Boone, I wanted a KY long rifle. Got a .22 single shot Ithaca at age 15 and a few months later, went to the North-South Skirmish Association's Fall skirmish near Winchester VA. My dad had a friend who shot with one of the units...

    How Ridiculous is This?

Years ago, I attended a city auction that included firearms. I saw trashed Raven .25 autos go for more than new prices. I also saw a Daisy M94 BB gun for over $100. When the bidder went to pay for it and realized it was NOT a real gun (the auctioneers TOLD everybody before the bidding began), it...

Progressively rifled barrel for Enfield 1853/58

If mine has the quicker twist, it should do well with the loads I already use. I particularly wanted an 1853 Enfield as that is what my great, great granddaddy carried during the War of Yankee Aggression.

Progressively rifled barrel for Enfield 1853/58

I have a Prichett mould, but haven't cast any yet. My usual load is a 345 grain Rapine semi wadcutter over 45 grains of FFFg Goex. This load does fine in the 2 bander and the musketoon. Haven't tried in the 1853 yet.

Progressively rifled barrel for Enfield 1853/58

Thank you. When the P-H line came out, I was a poor college student and couldn't afford any of them. It took me thirty years before I could and managed to get all three. I have used the musketoon as my N-SSA carbine gun in the past. I now shoot a Smith repo so that I can miss faster. :D The...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

What brand Enfield is it? Usually, if a rifle musket won't shoot Minies, it is either too small a bullet or the lead is too hard? What powder charge did you use and which style and weight Minie were you using?

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

A couple of years ago, I bought a cut-down & bored out .577 Tower Enfield musket. It came with an unattached hammer. I finally got around to fitting the hammer.

Aging a Confederate D Guard Bowie Knife

The knife looks much better aged. Two good looking brothers there. If you want to improve your 20th Maine impression, find a forage cap, sew a red cloth Maltese cross on top, get rid of the crossed rifle insignia (post war), ditch the cavalry sword & revolver and get an infantryman's cartridge...
