    Possible..... More so with La Salle I am sure as he was wealthy and could afford to out fit his men. All the records I have ever seen have showed that matchlock exsisted along side flintlocks in NF up to the 1690s-1700s, when flints overtook matches for good. 100% of the people armed in NF...

    I have a hank of hemp cord ready to be turned into match....... I just need a good source of salt peter to soak it in.... Anyone? I heard using water with gunpowder works as the saltpeter in the powder leeches into the water...is this true?

    Saw Pitchy's work and it looks wonderful!! I would definately be interested if he does build to sell. I am not looking for a rifle Shopee $1200 gun or anything.
