    Winchester cannon

I bought new 10 ga hulls from Midway, and have reloaded them many times. I use 250 gr of ff Goes. I use a thin cardboard wad and a dab of glue to hold the powder in. Then I cut the hull off just above the wad. Has worked great. h4198

    Parrott remodel pictures

It's about 40 miles out to where I shoot. Usually haul it in the back of my pickup. This trip I did haul it on my trailer. I live in the Kansas city suburbs, so it gets lots of looks, and waves. Usually haul it with the barrel fully depressed, some people may not like this thing pointing at...

    Parrott remodel pictures

Took the remodeled Parrott to the range for the first time Saturday. Worked the load up slowly, finally setteled on 300gr of ff Goex, behind a patched 1" steel ball. Still don't have a rear sight, so mostly fired for effect, rather then accuracy. The spring loaded cannon lock, and the removable...

    Small bore cannon sights

What would you use for sights on a 1" bore cannon? My shooting is all at 100 yards or less, mostly less. I currently use a small Red Dot scope, it works well, and is reasonably accurate. I am having the little cannon remodeled, it will eventuallty look like a small parrott rifle. The Red Dot...

    Buckshot loads?

Capt. Have never really noticed the gun recoil at all. My cannon is the first one in volume 11 of the pictures. I get the steel balls from Enco. Try looking on their website. Anyone have any idea what a 1" steel ball weighs, my scale only goes up to 500 grains, and they are heavier then that. h4198

    Buckshot loads?

A friend gave me a large bag of #4 buckshot. Thought I might like to try some of it in my 1" bore cannon. I usually shoot 1" steel balls and 250-400 gr of powder. How much shot-powder should I put in? Should the shot be in some type of holder? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, h4198

    Spring loaded cannon lock

coehornboy, that Lyle gun igniter is a nice compact design. Does it use a lanyard, connected to a pin, that when pulled allows the spring loaded hammer to fall on the 22 blank? Not to complicated a design, but like you said, "a little pricey".

    Spring loaded cannon lock

Has anyone seen, or have plans for a spring loaded cannon lock? Am remodeling my cannon, and would like to get away from yanking so hard on the lanyard. Thouhgt some form of spring and sear might even improve accuracy. Looks like an AR15 hammer spring might fit on a modified cannon lock, but how...

    10 ga breech loader

Sad to say, my oversize Winchester noise maker has had it's first break down. Blew one of the trunnions loose. The good part is, my machinest says "it is all still under warrenty". Have to get it back to him after the first. h4198

Project #2 - replica Burgundian cannon

Cohornboy, another job very well done. I to am always "thrifty" when building my cannons. Both have used oil well plungers for barrels. Have to hire all my machine work done, so have to save elsewhere. h4198

    10 ga breech loader

Finished up the 10 ga. breech loader today. It turned out to be a 1" bore muzzle loader, with a removal breech. Where the firing pin would have been, there is a muzzle loader nipple and cap. Will try to post pictures. h4198

    Winchester 10 Ga. breech loader

Cap Ed, what is a BNA B/L? In your 10 ga. cannon, what prevents the insertion of a loaded 10 ga. shotgun shell? Thanks, h4198
