    Rev war wooden canteen

I made this with pine, it's 10" tall and 5" thick. The iron bands are 1/8 th by 1/2 inch and peened with # 9 wire. The plug is made from black cow horn tip, chains are rusted bailing wire. After the stain sets I'll soak it in water for a day and see if it's water tight, every thing fits tight so...

    Fat betty lamp

I had a little spare time here lately so i thought I'd make one of these. Its made from junk yard sheet copper and some wire. The hook is forged from a electric fence post. Seems to work OK on veg oil but i think animal fat oil will work better.

    Belt ax

I had an old ax, the cheap kind you get at Lowes etc etc. I cut it down to 4 1/2 inches long and drew out the poll a 1/2 inch longer then thinned the head by about half. Reshaped the bottom and made the top flat. Heat treated retempered then made the handle. The handle is shaped from Osage...

    English trade knife

I forged this from a disc harrow tine. I made another smaller one of the same steel and skinned a deer the other day, wanting to see if the edge would hold up i whittled on the leg bone and it held the edge very well. The blade measures 8 1/2 inches and the handle and sheath are made from grain...

    Altoid tin replacements

They are not difficult to make. I made two pieces of iron to mold the copper around. One just a little bit smaller than the other, the bigger one is for the lid. Some sheet copper from the junk yard. Cut and bend the corners. A quick dip in muratic (sp) acid. Solder. Trim the lid a little and...

    Lock & barrel shine

My first rifle build is coming to an end.I want the lock & barrel to look like the one on the cover of Muzzle Blast magazine, January 09 issue. The gun in the top of the picture. Dull bright, is what I'm hoping for. The only thing that's been done to the barrel so far is draw filed. TOW said...

    bessy lamp

Well, this is the design I ended up going with. Its made from the steel of a 50 gallon barrel. I originally made a "tube" to hold the wick, but I found that a trough worked much better, when it's time to put out the flame, just slide the wick back down into the oil with the pick. This little...

    brain tanned bag

This is a bag I made with brain tanned leather from last winter. I hand softend and smoked it twice. When I do some skins this winter, they will all be hand softend rather than frame softend, the leather comes out much thicker this way, more usefull to me. Hope you like the looks of the bag.
