    Squirrel Dogs

I will take a look at his site. For you folks that hunt with dogs do you think it is necessary or do you just enjoy the companionship? I've been hunting squirrels successfully my entire life and didn't realize folks used dogs.

Ramrod ends - Steel or Wood?

Why? I'd rather have a hickory splinter than fiberglass or carbon Fibre. Plus I would never have a florescent rammer in my rifle. Over complicating what works. Never understand why but hey be happy.

PA flintlock late season flintlock hunters

I finished out the season yesterday evening with seeing a doe around 3pm. Too far for a decent shot. Stayed out until dark with no other opportunities. Oh well.looking for to next year already. I did find an old grave marker at the top of a hollow.

    Squirrel Dogs

Having grown up with coon hounds, rabbit beagles, bird dogs, and hunting squirrels since the age of 8 I have never had any experience with squirrel dogs. I searched here but haven't found any mention of it. Have any of yall hunted with dogs and if so what breeds do you think are most suited...

Ramrod ends - Steel or Wood?

I prefer a tapered rammer. Fatter wooden end to seat the ball. The skinnier end with the metal tip for cleaning.,etc James

    SGT Alvin York Shoot

I like a good competition but every event people have to take it to extremes and make it specialized for that shoot. Not realistic to me. Using the hunting rifle you normally use is great. Not a special built rifle or competition. Always sucks the fun out of it for me.

    SGT Alvin York Shoot

That's great. I have always enjoyed the movie about Alvin York and his heroics. I'm glad they do this . Would love to attend one year. Sounds like alot of other shoots I avoid though. Never understood why people have to" game it"

    Blowing down the barrel

I just read this entire thread and not one of you mentioned the dangers of blowing down the barrel when out hunting in cold winter temperatures and the chances of getting your tongue stuck to the muzzle like Ralphy did on the flag pole. Now double dog dare me to start a new thread on it.

Smooth rifles, were they made as new guns?

Good story or tall tale yes. No facts show a silly narrative. I can't believe the ignorance in this thread. I am starting to feel like someone is yanking my chain and I fell for it. Shame one me. Bahaha
