    Middlesex Double Barrel

Jack, you make me tired. You are so incredibly predictable and boring. Go find somebody else to annoy. I didn't say the people here are stupid. In fact they have more patience than I do and they deserve a medal for helping this guy out when he continues to not take any advice from experienced...

    barrel steel again

I blew a douglas years ago, but I don't think they were 12L14. My own damned fault anyway. Loaded, dumped another charge of powder, short started the ball then got distracted in conversation. My turn to shoot and I stepped up to the line and blew her all to hell. :headslap:

carving on trade gun stock/Type D

Don't go by what other modern day builders have done. Buy Kevin Gladysz book on French trade guns from TOTW and do what was originally done.

    Middlesex Double Barrel

To be honest Jack, I really don't give a dam what he buys so there is no point in my taking the time to clarify, it would just go over his head any way.. I;ll just keep my opinions and 32 years of experience to myself so as to keep you and others from being overly offended. :idunno: The internet...

Way too much drop on the pattern. You'll end up shooting that one from your hip.

    Early Hershel House Rifle

Looks just like the .29 by House that I used to own. Made in '72. Only difference, mine had a Bill Large barrel and a Bob Roller lock.

As I said, if that looks good to you then go buy one. You always get just exactly what you pay for.

    Double barrel flintlock?

I get around....and end up finding them occasionally. Gun shows and such. A fowling gun is light and lively and designed for wing shooting and only has a front sight like a shot gun. A smooth rifle is heavy and it's main purpose is shooting round ball and occasionally shot at stationary...

    Heat Mirage

Heat mirage, I love it. :shake: I carry a wet rag when shooting competition matches this time of year and use it to cool down the barrel. Helps some. :idunno:

    Middlesex Double Barrel

Yes , flint doubles are expensive. You'd have just as much fun with a single barrel flint. I'd suggest a 16,12 or 10 bore if you are wing shooting....I don't know how you do things in Canada.

    Double barrel flintlock?

I don't build doubles anymore. Too big of a pain in the neck. Ed Rayle's joined barrels with fitted plugs and standing breech are $1100. I'd find an original. They can be had for around $2500 if you look. If you can't afford that I'd get a single barrel flint gun built, but not a virginia...

Junk. Look for an original. I see them occasionally for around $2500.

Pretty sassy there RB. So what am I? Troll? Alcoholic? Drug user? Have you looked in the mirror lately? Your arrogance is astounding......Of course you can't read this so I just wasted my time posting it. :idunno:

    cemetary gun

I have always heard them called "poacher's guns". Used to kill trespassing poachers on his lordship's land.

RB has so many people in a box now he must figure he's the only one that uses the board. :haha: He'd probably have less humidity in the safe if he'd not open the door 2X a day. :youcrazy:
