    Longview area shoots?

You know, I’m sure if we put in a little effort...we might be able to build a small small group out here. Lovelady, Bullard, White Oak. I’m sure there are some other enthusiasts in the area.

Lol. I can’t ever make it that far into Collectors...inevitably I get caught looking at rifles for my Africa trip that will happen one day.

    Longview area shoots?

Ye Yes sir. Keep us in the know. I haven’t bought a rifle yet to decide powder and such. GOEX is only percussion sage correct? Or is it ok in flints?

    First Rifle recommendations?

I will. The first one, if I go larger bore will be for deer. But I’ve now considered going smaller bore just to chase squirrels and the like to shoot more and hasten the abilities. If you can hit a squirrel, you can hit a deers heart.

    First Rifle recommendations?

Mr.Larry, I’m a fair hand. I do plenty of custom leather and dabble in carpentry. I’m patient as can be in all honesty. Just not sure which to go with... I love a flint rifle, never seen one I didn’t find enticing. But then again I love the “ease” of the percussions from my research. I’m...

    Dogs and frontloaders?

Anyone running dogs with their black powder arms? Seems this board has plenty of old souls. I’d like to hear your stories if so.

I thought there was a shop in Whitehouse to buy powder and supplies?

    First Rifle recommendations?

I’m up near Longview now, but my folks in The Woodlands can probably find it if really need be. And the all or nothing comment, I just dive in until I sink or swim. Lol. Not the whole unwilling to compromise.

    First Rifle recommendations?

I know I can get Goex close. Idk if there are many other options up my way, but it’s about a 30 minute drive to pick up the goex.

    Longview area shoots?

I was wondering if there were any groups up here in the piney woods that would welcome a rookie in to learn and join in. Looking to learn as much as possible about traditional rifles as possible. Eventually I want to hunt with only a traditional rifle other than our night hog chasing. I look...

    First Rifle recommendations?

Honestly I’ve never shot traditional muzzleloaders. But I’m pretty much one of those all or nothing guys. I know there is a rendezvous type group pretty close, but I’ve yet to become involved. I’m not really set either way, I just figured might as well ask you guys. I’ll likely end up with both...

    First Rifle recommendations?

Hoo there folks. I’m looking at building/buying my first rifle. I can’t decide on percussion or flint...I know I’ll likely end up with a 50-54 caliber rifle first. I’m just looking for a decent kit to start. I’ve seen the Kiblers and Traditions. I was just seeing if there were any more kits or...

    Hoo there from Texas.

I appreciate your welcomes. Where might a guy just start a “general conversation” looking for advice?

Family is in The Woodlands and I’m home once a month. Looking to buy my first rifle and such.

    Hoo there from Texas.

My story is a little different than most. Always been a lever gun man, hunted all I could. Now, I’ve decided to build my own traditional muzzleloader to be able to hunt more. East Texas for now, I have a habit of floating around. Figured I’d come here to find advice on a good kit to build what...
