gun safes and cap and ball stories...

I'm sorry this happened. This sucks. But no one got hurt physically. Loosing peace of mind sucks. I haven't read all the responses so I hope I'm not duplicating. They will be back. They will bring more tools. Get a bigger and better safe and bolt it to the floor. Maybe get an alarm system...

Can anyone supply a list of states where a BP gun must go to an FFL holder?

So basically there is a conversion cylinder for the basic revolvers. So like the 1860, Walker, 1858 Remington’s etc can be converted. So no go to MI?

Can anyone supply a list of states where a BP gun must go to an FFL holder?

I get black powder revolvers in MA from Cimarron, Texas Jacks, MidWayUSA and Track of the Wolf. No ffl required and the state does not consider them a firearm.

WITHDRAWN WTB RMC Ox-Yoke Quick 6 Loading Stand

Haven’t used it yet but I was wondering about that. 6 balls being pushed at once? That’s a lot of pressure.

    Sharps O Ring Breech Mod

I had an Italian 54 cal carbine back in 1979. Bought in Woolworth or somewhere in Denver. That was a fine shooting carbine. Pushed a bullet into the chamber, filled the chamber with powder to the top and that sucker hit the 100 yard plate every time! That was an awesome carbine for sure. And had...

    Sharps O Ring Breech Mod

I have an 1863 band rifle in 45 cal and an 1863 carbine in 50 cal. Both are Shiloh Sharps. No sheets of flame. No blow by. Taking of the fore end wood there is a little fouling at the lower end area. Very little. Both are fun shooters. I just put in a bullet, some cornmeal for filler then the...

    Chiappa 1859 Sharps

"Pedersoli also apparently still has the problem with their "improved" breech block. Not good for paper cartridges. They tried to improve a system that didn't need improving. Our good friend Christian Sharps knew exactly what he was doing. You will never get a percussion Sharps completely gas...

    1859 sharps breech block modification?

Never understood how the brass cases work. Is that an Italian modification? Did the originals ever use brass cases?

    M1863 sharps sporting

Hot lube sounds good. The corn meal is for filler to keep the powder from spreading out. Looks like a nice rifle. Especially love the double set trigger! Love the checkering also! Both of mine only have the single trigger.

    M1863 sharps sporting

I hand lube my bullets with bore butter. I don't seem to have any accuracy that way. I bought a sizer/luber but haven't shot those bullets yet. I use SPG in the sizer/luber. I have a 45 cal 3 band rifle and a 50 cal carbine. Both 1863's. I push in the bullet, add some corn meal filler and then...

What kind of stuff do you all read?

Am to cheap for Kindle Unlimited. I get BookBub and get a lot of free books or .99 cents books. Favorite authors I pay a bit more for.

What kind of stuff do you all read?

Get a library card, usually no cost? Get an e reader app like Overdrive and its no cost to read ebooks or magazines at the library. And the best part is unlike the old days you don't have to visit the library. Tho that was fun.

    Pietta .44 navy?

I was so hot to get an 1849 pocket model but even with no arthritis in my hands/fingers the .31 is just to small to bother with. For me anyway.

    What blows me away...

I am amazed at the cathedrals in Europe. How did they build them so high? How did they get the pointy things up onto the roof that was already so hi?
