    .32 Crockett Rifle ramrod questions

Gentlemen, My new Crockett Rifle (2022 manufacture date) has an aluminum ramrod. It appears to be between 1/4 and 5/16 in diameter (17/64). It seems to fit well in the thimbles and stock and does not rattle, but I was looking at making a hickory one. I have seen where many of you have...

    .32 Rifle selection question

If you had your choice of a .32 Traditions Crockett rifle or a .32 Pedersoli Kentucky rifle, which would you choose, and why? Both with double triggers, both percussion, Crockett is half-stocked and has a 32” barrel (I think), and the Kentucky is full stocked and has a 35.5” or 36” barrel (I think).

    Keeton custom patchknife

My brother sent me a patch knife for my upcoming birthday, and I thought I would share some pics. It was made by Mr. Bill Keeton, of Keeton Custom Knives, and is a beaut. It is named “Forward Pass.” Mr. Keeton is originally from Louisville, KY, and he names his custom knives after Kentucky...

    CVA Kentucky pistol trigger

Recently acquired a 1983 CVA Kentucky pistol in .45 caliber. Took it out to shoot it, and noticed that when you pull the trigger, it seemed to get to a “stopping place” and you really had to keep squeezing for it to finally fire. Any suggestions on how to make it a little more “sensitive?” Thanks!

Good finds at local pawn shop…

Ok, so I have previously bemoaned the fact that I never see any sidelocks at any of my local pawnshops or gun stores. Well, I stand corrected, as of today.😀 I went into a local pawn shop and they had a .54 TC Hawken, a .54 CVA Mountain Rifle, a .56 TC Renegade smoothbore, a couple of civil war...

Optimal bore size for a smoothie?

I know this is a very subjective topic, but curious as to members’ opinions on what they consider to be the optimal smoothbore size. Also, longer barrel? Shorter barrel? I’m thinking for general use, but specialty uses are good too. Thanks!

SOLD CVA St. Louis Hawken, Percussion, with .50 and .54 Barrels

.50 made in 1995, and purchased new by me in 1996. Dependable, color case-hardened percussion lock. Brass has a little patina, but could easily be polished to a shine (I have not because I like the patina). Includes original CVA manual. Bore is excellent. Additional .54 barrel made in 1990. Also...

    T/C rifle barrels labeling

Hello All, When did T/C start putting the “For black powder or Pyrodex only” warning on Renegade or Hawken barrels? Also, my understanding is that (except for at the very start) T/C rifles are made in Italy (by Investarms?) If so, why do they not have any Italian proof marks on the barrels? Or...
