    For most of my life it was .45 with the occasional .50 thrown in. When powder got hard to come by I stepped down to a .40. Less powder, lead, and recoil. What's not to like? John

    I removed metal from the shoulder on the hammer (cock) so it contacts the plate aft of the hole instead over it. Problem solved. John
