    Hello from NW Arkansas

Hi Randy, I have never been to that one, but I've heard of it. Sounds like a really good one to go to. I've been meaning to get over toward Berryville ever since the beginning of summer, but never got around to it. Thanks for the welcome and the heads up about the shoot at Berryville. I'll look...

New to me CVA 50 cal percussion

    28" barrel, not 8".

New to me CVA 50 cal percussion

Nice looking rifle! Great find! I'm embarrassed to say that last Saturday I paid $199 for one that looks just like it - "Springfield Hawken" CVA - with a 8" barrel and "blonde" stock. But it looks good with a browned (well, mostly browned) barrel. Grooves are absolutely full of rust, but I'm...

    1962 MARCA NORICA 9mm Muzzleloader

Thanks for the information. :) That's good to know! I will set the breech end of the barrel to soak in some penetrating oil then soon and see if I can get the nipple out and that flash channel cleaned out. Good to know that the breech plug at least can be removed without too much problem. I've...

    1962 MARCA NORICA 9mm Muzzleloader

My barrel also has the proof marks with the little Spanish soldier with the "X" marked shield (underneath the barrel). 700kg/cm2 is 9956.34lb/in2 - just a tad under 10,000 lbs per square inch pressure proofed. Just like most Italian and Spanish barrels. So it could be fired - low charges maybe...

nice rifle with a lot of work. It is a project gun for sure.

    1962 MARCA NORICA 9mm Muzzleloader

Treestalker, That is cool. $5! Nice!! I probably gave way too much for this one, but it looked cool. I cleaned it up a little (removed the dirt and as much of the rust as I could on the first pass). It seems to be plugged down at the breech somewhere - can't blow any air through the barrel. I...

    1962 MARCA NORICA 9mm Muzzleloader

Found at a local pawn shop Saturday. Rickety and grimy, but kinda cool I think. Just thought some would like to see an old replica muzzleloader. Barrel at breech is 20mm - at muzzle is 16mm. It has a funky little patchbox with some round pillow ticking patches stuffed inside.

    Well there it goes....

Oh man! That's too bad. Only deer I've ever killed was with a '73 Mercury Montego.

    Forgot one photo.

    Got Lucky Again

The ones I saw might not have been Renegades. I don't know T/C rifles very well, but they look really well made.

Just picked up an '89 CVA Hunter-Hawken .50

Update: traded the CVA off because the nipple didn't line up with the hammer (someone had tried, unsuccessfully, to turn the drum in tighter using a channel-lock or pliers); and the threads in the drum for the nipple was seriously "wallered" out - the nipple was difficult to get started and was...

Cool! Was that the one at OA? :) MM had one, but there was something weird going on with the lock. Good looking rifle there! :)
