Is Kibler a Sponsor of this site?

The only thing that I have ever found odd is when he personally links his videos to this site, which are basically advertisements for his products. Having said that, I'm not an owner of this site, so if they don't have a problem with it I guess neither do I.

    Cabela's chaps my hide.

I get that hoarding is a problem, and does hurt recruitment in our hobby as a whole, but there needs to be some situational awareness by the retailer as well. It's not like the OP was asking to buy everything they had, and by their own admission they were in a low demand period for the powder...

Yup, that is a soft frizzen. Either re-harden it yourself or get a replacement.

    Pedersoli Nipple Issues

Not just Pedersoli, but have found over the years most Italian guns, and specifically revolvers seem to have undersized nipple threads. Have had to freshen out the nipple threads in various revolver cylinders I have owned over the years to accept American made nipples. The Italian nipples were...

    The Snipe

For comparison a woodcock is hanging on the right, and two snipe are on the left side of the game hanger.

    Original Brown Bess. Nice pics.

Others will chime in, but the buttplate and stock do not appear "pattern". Maybe a re-stock, or private contract?

AVOID Ancient Recipes With Sohla, from the History Channel

Good to know, however your definition of ale, lager, and beer are different then I have known. Ales and lagers are both beer, as far as I have always understood. The only difference between the two being the temperature at which they are fermented. Ales are fermented at room temperatures with...

    Can't Remove Breech Plug!

The vast majority of home shop vises are woefully outmatched when it comes to removing breech plugs. Adding padding/shims to the jaws only makes the problem worse. Even small amounts of torque can cam the jaws apart. The best vise I have ever found for removing breech plugs is a 6" milling...

Guess The Price That Was Paid Circa 1990 !

I'm probably wrong, but I thought that style of can graphics didn't come around until later in the 90's. My memory ain't what it used to be though.

    Cap sizes?

Buy new nipples that are sized for #11 caps. Track of the Wolf probably has them for whatever revolver you have. Loose fitting caps (pinched down #11 on #10 nipples) are a sure way to get a chain fire.

    Type of tap

It will be easier to start the threading with a taper tap. It will most likely have to be followed up with a plug tap unless you are tapping a large bore barrel and the "taper" of the taper tap can completely enter the bore fully finishing the threads. A plug tap has a shorter taper (3-5...

Great Great Grandfather's Manton Shotgun London or Belgium?

This is a hardware store quality gun with a Manton name on it. Knock off "Manton's" were not only made in Belgium, but in Birmingham as well. Interestingly enough Joseph Manton went bankrupt fighting trade infringement on his name during his lifetime, and died with practically nothing...

What do you use to keeps nipples from seizing?

Used to only use anti-seize grease on my nipples, but when I started shooting .451 target rifles it just didn't cut it anymore. Started using 1/4" wide teflon pipe tape, and it made world of difference. No seized nipples or fouling in the threads anymore. With normal round ball muzzleloaders...

    Dangerous Situation

I have one of those measurers, but I can't quite understand what you are describing. Are you talking about the round disk that rides on the square post, on the inside of the measure? Mine isn't threaded on, it seems to be pressed fit and is quite solid. The only threaded parts on mine are...

    12L14 barrel comes apart

Not sure what the controversy is here. The barrel failed because of the short started ball. The barrel would have been ruined regardless of what it was made out of. There is a significant probability it would have split and/or bulge regardless of whether it was made of 4140, 1137, 8620 or...

    Blown nipple.

In the name of everything that is holy..... Only fix is to tap it out to a larger size, most likely all the way to a 5/16" thread. Doesn't look like the standard 1/4-28 oversized nipples/taps (+.005, +.010, +.015 etc.) would be enough to chase out that mess.
