    I have two rifles that have Davis locks . Both have been heavily used over the years and the locks have preformed flawlessly . I would not hesitate to go with a Davis lock again .

    Excessive Fouling in my Cabela's .50 Hawken 1:48 twist

    If your bore is in good shape l would think you probably are not using enough lube on your patches . Try 3f powder , it will produce less fouling than 2f powder . Saturate those patches well with lube . I have used mink oil a lot in matches , shoot all day and never have to swab .

    Bullet lube ??

    I make my Moose Milk with 1 part Ballistol and 3 or 4 parts water . This also makes a good bore cleaner !

    Rifles that will be stored away for long periods of time , in my opinion should have the bore swabbed well with a good gun grease .

    Dryed green beans on toothpicks , acorns on toothpicks , pinecones hung with string , walnuts with or without the outer husk on them hung with string , and corncobs which can be hung with string vertically , horazontal or diagonally .
