Latest two rifles from Richard Miller...

Here was the original ad. I knew I was going to win when I saw the ad, literally. I figured I’d by $100 of raffle tickets and stopped at $50… knew it was enough. My wife (at the time) got totally ****** because she said I wasted our luck on that and now we wouldn’t win the lottery. Wives don’t...

Latest two rifles from Richard Miller...

Years ago I won a rifle raffle for an amazing Richard Miller and Jim Chambers rifle. I’d love to know more about Richard! This rifle is beautiful and a dead shot!

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

Here’s a few more photos of old Tick Licker… ”2” I guess. I ca’t imagine anyone else trying this, but if anyone ever needs references, let me know!

    Last of the Mohicans Rifle

Also, I saw the original rifle on display in the San Antonio Planet Hollywood (only reason I ever went in that dump). Nice rifle. I like the light color treatment. Might not be historically accurate, don't know.

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

I never could get a good look at it. Even now, with the series on DVD it's hard to see any detail. Luckily I found some great references on the internet, comic book and coloring book covers, etc.

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

Not the “beauty” shots yet, but Tick Licker is done. Rough and ready, a nice addition to my more art-form rifles and a great conversation piece on the shooting range.

    Last of the Mohicans Rifle

He helped me with my Tick Licker replica. He’s great!

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

More color… I’m thinking this rifle should look like a native/primitive carving piece. It’s based on a trade rifle and so many of those ended up in native hands. That’s my take on it… and it excuses my meager carving skills. So far, it’s what I wanted. Feeling very happy with the results!

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

Ok, first touch of color, needs several more coats!

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

Here is the latest… yep, I know, it seems like an odd effort, but I was fascinated with the gun growing up. I think I even modified my old cap rifle to resemble tick licker! I was my entry drug to the flintlock addiction.

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

So it's been a while, but I'm finally getting a rough carve under way! Will move along faster now!

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

I’ve been distracted by COVID and moving and whatnot. Getting back on her now…

I recall seeing one of the rifles in the San Antonio Planet Hollywood...

    Love the patina!

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

Yep, that’s the same gun... and I do expect one of the Belgium guns to show up, but still having fun and that’s the whole point!

    Unknown flintlock muzzleloader

    Always wanted one of these!

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

That’s a stunt rifle, not the one typically used on the show... but he did take a few publicity photos with it, for some reason.

    Whatever happened to Tick Licker?

Normally that would be the case, but I’ve only seen a minor ramrod pipe change over all the years of the show. Parker was a producer and tended to care for his own props, etc... I really think there was only one rifle (other than some stunt trap door rifles).
