    Leading in a smoothbore

I gots a lil lead in the smoothbore barrel but there ain’t no way i’m putting an oxidizer/acid in my barrel period. I’ll stick with the expert Brit as he most likely has shot a tractor trailers load of shot over the years!

    Thanks sky chief

Welcome Mailman and 30 yard looks good and 25 will be better. Now the nice thing with saving your money by not jug choking you can spend it to buy more powder/shot/wads/cards as a smoothbore will keep you busy at the range! Since you used 5 shot maybe try it with 4’s and heck even 7 1/2. Just...

    M. Avance Fowler 20 gauge

I’m not much of a paper shooter as most of my shooting is steel targets…woods walks and plinking which i find way more fun. My main load was 70gr 2F goex, .010 or .015 pillow ticking(lube of choice) and .600 rb. Last year i change it up to 60gr 2F goex, .017/.018 pillow ticking and .595 rb. Both...

    Thanks sky chief

Nice pattern Mailman! I like to see it at 25 and even 30 yards. Now remember Skychief developed this load for non choked barrels and it’s been a game changer. I see you said about getting it jug choked, the load may no preform as well or not at all. I have a .62 fowler cyl bore and because of...

    Who's got the best lube?

When not hunting it’s spit. For hunting and below freezing temps it’s Bear Paws with bear oil.

I checked RMC OX-YOKE website and they didn’t show any. They do have other T/C parts. Look them up and give a call, maybe you will luck out and they have one. They are out of Pa. Ebay has a hawken hammer for $99.00. If you use the gun i would look into L&R locks. They have a replacement lock for...

How do I remove this mainspring?

Oh, almost forgot…be very careful when removing. The mainspring guide is inside the mainspring and under pressure. When removing keep it pointed in safe direction because if you don’t get a good hold and it slips the mainspring guide will shoot out like a missile…ask me how i know!!! It happened...
