    I found 5 of Dad's C&B Revolvers...

Biggest challenge is killing the mold and verdigris. Once it has developed it is very difficult to keep off. Some Ren-Wax will help remove it and breathe new life into the leather.

Inquiry about current replica percussion revolvers

Thanks for that summary. I plan on casing a Remington New Model Army. I am looking at two, the Cimarron and the one offered by Taylor's. Both have a color-case frame with blued cylinder and barrel. I know historically that the Remington was blued, but I like the looks of this version.

Inquiry about current replica percussion revolvers

It has been a while since I have purchased any percussion revolvers. Back in the day, Uberti was tough to beat. Reading a number of posts on this subject, I know that the pandemic wreaked havoc with the Italian manufacturers, and quality may have since slipped. I used to read that Cimarron...

WANTED Colt Black Powder Series Revolvers

Looking for an unfired, collectible grade 1851 Navy and/or a Second Model Dragoon from the Colt Black Powder Series (Black Box). Will consider a lightly used one as long as it is well maintained and cared for with no sign of corrosion or pitting, with the original box. Box can be worn, but...

    Grandpa stories

I got along real well with both of my Grandfathers. Especially my paternal. He was really proud of his Quebec roots. Make no mistake, he was proud to be an American. In fact, the picture of JFK that hung in their home now hangs in mine. But he loved to tell stories about rural Quebec...

Not black powder related but Kusk Bushcraft is good if you like survival/primitive skills.

Why no black powder hunting personalities

The majority of hunting shows and YouTube videos do us no favors. Blasting ducks to rock music backgrounds, replaying the kills in slow-motion, and focusing or obsessing over only 200lb or better Whitetails, etc. I wish more focused on the conservation side, and we contribute to that effort.

Why no black powder hunting personalities

"The Bachelor - West Virginia Calling" All kidding aside, he doesn't hunt, but Hickok45 on YouTube shoots some black powder. He can get a little redundant, but I enjoy his reviews.

New .58 caliber Hawken type Rifle

The one on top is a .54 caliber. It has a 36" J. Goodoien barrel, engraved Bob Roller lock, a checkered wrist with curly maple stock. The lock, trigger guard, and butt plate are color cased, which have aged (faded) to a mottled gray. The nose cap is pewter, but the ram rod thimble, patch...
