    First with a Flintlock

    Yesterday was the last day of deer season here in AL. Carried my new to me Pedersoli after getting the sights adjusted late last week, and had a great opportunity at about 30 yards. My first with a flintlock!

    Flint size

    Standard rifle #6 english flint from TOTW is too large for my pedersoli kentucky. I had to do some fancy knapping on the thick side to get one to fit. Looks like it's going to take a 5/8". I have 2 of the #6's .. anybody want to swap for a couple of small ones?

    Have a 50 cal Pedersoli on the way with the double set trigger.... the Kentucky model. This is my first flinter. Any recommendations from others who have or had them?

    Chilled shot to roundballs?

    I have 50 lbs of chilled #8 shot from back in my shotgun loading days. I read where it likely has a %2 or 3% antimony content. Is that going to make the lead too hard to make round balls?
