    Another Colonial

Thanks guys. I have to confess that I didn't build it. Had a great recommendation for a builder. Didn't have all the tools, and frankly, I didn't trust myself with an expensive kit. Don't have the pic, but it shoots as good as it looks.

The Kibler's are getting some love here lately, aren't they? Here is my new 50 cal.

    SOLD Kibler SMR Cherry Kit

I'm giving it a lot of thought. I like the Colonial kit better than the SMR... but there's only so much a man can stand.

    Quality Time at the Range

Had a little time today to get to know my Kentucky Flint. Not a lot of time, probably shot 12-15 shots at 50 yards. Mainly just getting the loading procedure dialed in, and trying to shoot some groups and working on not letting the pan flash get to me. Every shot wasn't perfect, but most were...

I ordered 4 lbs of goex from Powder Valley online. $10 hazmat, plus reg shipping. Came out to a little over $22 a pound. Worth it to arrive at my door, IMO.

    CWD cure

I watched a few of Jim's videos recently. I feel like I need to go ahead an order one of his kits. Now, do I go for that insanely long and skinny mtn rifle, or the more robust colonial.... Oh, and the video seemed to be chocked full of hopes and dreams and wishes... not sure if I believe any...

    Flint size

TOTW says their standard #6 english flint is 3/4 x 7/8. I have 2 of them brand new. Will swap if you have some 5/8ths flints. I was just going to make a new order in a week or so. I have a few more things I need.

    First with a Flintlock

Yesterday was the last day of deer season here in AL. Carried my new to me Pedersoli after getting the sights adjusted late last week, and had a great opportunity at about 30 yards. My first with a flintlock!

    Flint size

Standard rifle #6 english flint from TOTW is too large for my pedersoli kentucky. I had to do some fancy knapping on the thick side to get one to fit. Looks like it's going to take a 5/8". I have 2 of the #6's .. anybody want to swap for a couple of small ones?

    Pedersoli...

I talked with Tippy and the folks at TVM last month, but for my first flinter, I wasn't especially looking for 1.5 grand. I want something to learn on, and something that has a decent reputation. I've shot percussion before, but never Flint, and I appreciate all the tips (I knew you guys would...
