    Flattening the horn

    I have wanted to flatten a horn and maybe the oil is just the trick. Then clamp the horn between two boards. Has anyone ever tried a standard pressure cooker? That should get the temp. up.     Goex powder deposit??

    I have noticed that when shooting some 3f Goex powder there are small flecks of red material left in the fowling. When shooting a Sharps I notice the flakes range from oat meal to corn flake size but very thin. Is this normal? What is it? Is anyone else getting this deposit or is it just me?

    Ever tried a metal match?

    Grain direction in a rifle stock?

Looking at the end grain of the butt should the grain run up and down (plain sawed) or horizontal ( quarter sawed).
