    WANTED Pure lead

I love those "one price any weight" boxes from USPS. I shipped 43# to Ol' Miss from AZ. Just have to tape it up good.

    Heat from candle

Candles in tent are great. 3 steric acid candles in candle lantern give both light and heat. Keeps tent nice and warm in snow..

    Small chisel sharpening??

I use a piece of 400 or 600 grit paper on a stone (usually marble) tile. If you need a guide, just angle cut a piece of wood and hold file down on it and slide both over paper.

58 cal Hawkens roundball load ?

You got it...1-72. Shooters at range always know when mine goes off....

58 cal Hawkens roundball load ?

Mine throws a large scattering of balls until you reach 100g FF then starts to shrink. 110-120 gr and all in 8" pie pan at 100 yrs. Off hand shooting... Probably could have gotten more accuracy but since I seldom take a shot over 75 yrds, it was good enough for me....

    Salt Cured Ham

Morton sugar cure worked great for our bear hams and shoulders back in '76 when my brother and I were in Idaho. Made great hams for a pot of beans. Just rub and hang. Repeat application once dripping stops. At that time it was sold in most grocery stores. Haven't seen it lately....

    Building an underhammer

Me too. Mine is a 45 I found in the cobwebs behind all the expensive guns at a traders trailer. Priced low, asked, he said that was right. It's mine. Shoots really nice and is light enough I could shoot it.

    Brown Bess Saved My Life

Good luck. Hope I'm around to see you get back on your feet. My C has been stage 4 since it was discovered 5 yrs ago and my MO says I'm end stage as I have used up most all the available treatments... Stay ahead of yours and the chemo isn't really all that bad..at least mine wasn't.

58 caliber compression projectiles info wanted

Neat, I would like to try a few of them in my 58. It only gets a group to shrink with a PRB when I hit 90-100 gr. A 60 gr. load that would pattern well would be a lot more fun to shoot...

Yep, good area there and on around Blue Ridge up to Lake Mary....

    Elk Tag

Not straight up and down, but a lot of "can't get there from here" spots. 40 miles as crow flies, but 150 miles by road.... and that's after snow melts.

    Elk Tag

Hey Old Oak, this picture was on a solo trek because the other 5 guys who were supposed to be there all flaked out. Well one broke his ankle, so he had a good excuse. Returned to the same spot a year later with two of my brothers and my grandson.. great time in a beautiful spot...

    TC Hawken Damaged Screw?

Correction noted... Leaving it alone isn't a bad idea.

    TC Hawken Damaged Screw?

Make sure to sure to use correct thread metric. US fine will screw right in and get tight, but only a small part of the tread will bight. Had a shooter beside me shoot one out into her arm, ouch...
