    Dave, Thank you sir for your reply, yes i also thought British but was thrown off by the barrel bands and yes it is 65cal.. I appreciate your input i was told it dates 1780- 1800?

    new on here need help with an charleville type 65cal. flintlock has 3stage barrell 40in. 55in. overall early serpentine cock and early 5 1/2in buttplate. was told c.1790?? any help thanks.
