WANTED Lyman Deerstalker 37ML Front Sight

Hi, I'm looking for a Lyman ( Investarms) front sight. The model number is 37ML and it's usually stamped on the bottom flat of the sight. Lyman used this one on the Deerstalker and some other Investarm made rifles. Cabelas was one. If you have one in your sight box that you are willing to...

    Gillespie rifle/shotgun combo

I believe the lack of European proof marks so far will eliminate a lot of those listed in your Der neue Stöckel book. My thoughts are did Gillespie build the combo gun with his own & JW Wilkinsons parts or did JW Wilkinson build the combo gun with his own & Gillespie parts. Thanks, O.R.

    Suggestions—> Broken Screw

Those brass screws like to break. I have carefully ground the remaining 1/2 of the broken screw head off with a dremel tool, removed the other screw and patch box. You will then be able to remove the broken screw shank with a good pair of plyers or small vice grips. Thanks, O.R.

    Gillespie rifle/shotgun combo

Nice old double. We have some forum members who specialize in these combination guns. They should be along. In the meanwhile, Frank Sellers book lists a George H.D. Gillespie of New York, New York 1840-1870 maker of Derringers & Locks and a John W Wilkinson of Brooklyn & New York, New York...

    Turner Kirklin rifles

Attached are scans from the 1956-57 Turner Kirkland Dixie Catalog. On the inside cover is a photograph of Turners father holding the prototype of his squirrel rifle. As stated earlier 1956 was the first year that it appeared in his catalogs. Thanks, O.R.

    Flintlock flinching

Flinching is not a problem as an old man. If you startle me now I'll flinch on Tuesday. The advice I give younger flintlock shooters is to wear a ball cap and adjust the bill so they can only see the sights. Not a cure all but a start. Thanks, O.R.

    Turner Kirklin rifles

I'm in agreement with @andy52 I have a 1955 Dixie catalog and a 1956. Your rifle is not in the 55 and is advertised as the New Squirrel rifle in the 1956. I'll post pictures later. I had that same .40 caliber and it was accurate. If memory serves me - It's been known not to - It liked a...
