    Red Hawk Trading Tents

Making sure canvas is dry before storing is a must do to insure the longevity of any canvas. I've got a 40 + year old baker lean-to thats still going strong due to proper care.

I have one of their 12x12 and a 10x10 diamond shelters. High quality, great products. Buying one of their products is money well spent.

    diamond shelters

I couldn't agree more. My first outing is coming up in a little over 2 weeks. It'll be my first event in a couple of years. Now that I'm retired that work thing won't be getting in the way anymore.😁

    diamond shelters

I really prefer a simple lean-to but when the flying cannibals come out in huge numbers I prefer to leave them outside. I've been considering a wedge for ease of set up and room for a cot.........I'm not getting any younger and I don't crawl so good anymore 😁

    diamond shelters

I set my tarp up in a little different configuration. I use a 12x12 and set it up so that can be closed up in foul weather or in bad skeeter environment. This configuration allows me to open the front which makes it a semi- diamond. HC? It's just a square tarp so it's possible.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I ran some .735 ball for my Brown Bess carbine...... she's got a big appetite. For comparative size there are several .311's lying there. She eats big but man she's fun to shoot!

    Just another horn

The staple does not go into spout channel......it's close though. This is a left carry horn but I carry on my right, by rotating the lobe and staple where I did it cradles perfect to my body on my right side. It took some experimentation but it work out well.

    Just another horn

Finished this up today. Pretty plain and simple but it turned out better than I expected. This is a big horn so one fill up should get me through the squirrel season 😁

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I started a new horn with a twist. I've scorched wood to bring out the grain and I thought why not horn. This was just a plain horn so I scorched it to see what would happen.......here's the results. The tip is still the original color but the golden/orange is scorched. Opinions?

Thunderstorms moving thru so it's a good opportunity to run some .435 balls.

    That should last a while

I was cleaning up one of my old out buildings today and came across a forgotten treasure.......... about 300 lbs of lead flashing. That'll keep me in balls for a loooong time.

    Suede leather

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question but here goes. I came across some really nice suede leather on the cheap that would make nice hunting and shooting bags but am curious about it's use in the early and mid 18th century. I find references to the late 18th century coming from...
