    Cannon Shooting in Oregon

Really In response to BILLIN OREGON. Try Peter Hoyt, JEFFERSON ARMORY, located in Phoenix, Oregon. He has a web site for Replica Artillery that he creates. On his site are pictures from a cannon shoot, at the Josephine County Range in Merlin, Oregon. He may know of other cannon shoots in that area.

    Good Laugh

Hello CP, I noticed the same listing some time ago and also sent him an email about the FFL requirement. Here is his reply to my email: “You're probably right about not needing an 01 FFL for them but I like to cover my butt just in case. Shipping could be costly because they are heavy”...

    Small bore cannon sights

This is what I use on my 1.5” Parrott half scale and it works out quite well for 200 meters. This is before they were colored in a flat non-glare black. As you can see by this sighting equipment, I do not like drilling and tapping holes in my SBR barrel. If you wish to be period correct, then...

    wadding for blank loads

The Cannon School and Matt Switlik's book "The More Complete Cannoneer" all recommend not using any wadding at all. A well-wrapped charge in heavy-duty aluminum foil will give you enough of a report to safely keep you happy. In over 30 years of shooting muzzle-loading cannons of all calibers...
